How are placements at IIT Kanpur for BS in physics?

This is slowly becoming one of the most coveted branches of IIT Kanpur. All the software companies that open job profiles for Mechanical and Chemical students also offer roles to students of BS in Physics. In fact, you will be surprised to know that many software companies opened profiles only for CSE, EE, Mathematics, and Physics, and not for mechanical, chemical, or civil. So we can conclude that BS in Physics is considered even better than Mechanical and Chemical to a certain degree. IIT Kanpur is second only to IISc in terms of global recognition and foreign education opportunities. It gives a constant edge to IISc in the quality of its research work and the overall standard of the institute. While many may not agree, in my opinion, IIT Kanpur is even better than IIT Delhi or Bombay. On an ending note, I would like to comment that make sure you go through the coursework once because the program comprises in-depth Physics concepts that everyone cannot handle.

How is the BS in Physics at IIT Kanpur?

The 3 foundation Physics courses taught to all engineering students in the first year are Introduction to Mechanics, Introduction to Electrodynamics, and Physics Lab. The courses were structured well, and the content was also interesting. While most of the topics covered overlapped with JEE concepts, there were additional pieces of knowledge in between. The assignments were intriguing and tested your skills and knowledge well. The exams were quite challenging and evaluated the students to the core. The faculty was very cooperative and was ready to help you with any doubts anytime Students that are enthusiastic about projects are given opportunities in theoretical/experimental work to expand their interest in Physics further. Decent internship offers are made to the students. Also, seniors who are in the Physics department have got good internships in India and abroad. However, a BS in Physics is not a good choice if it's the placements you are after. It is a research-oriented program whereas IIT Kanpur provides an Engineering focused environment. So the best choice for a BS in Physics is IISER.

Tuition fee is not high not that low and you also get fee waivers based on category and financial status. If you are Sc/St or your family income is less than 1 lakh you have to pay 0 tuition fees. If your family income is less than 5lakhs you have to pay 1/3rd of total tuition fees. But you have to pay the mess and hostel charge totally there is no waiver on that. There are a lot of scholarships but you need to be active about it or you will miss them without even getting a remainder.

IIT kanpur's college life

Tuition is fixed for a semester which is 100000/- and we have to pay hostel charges we comes around 18000/- per semester and we have to pay for mess per month which approx comes around 3-4K. Also there are lots of scholarship like Mcm, inspire, fbm and also tuition fees reduction on the basis of parental income like if parents income is less than 600000/- then tuition fees gets reduced to 33000/- per semester

It has one of the most challenging courses

Fees needs to be paid each semester. On average the fees is about 1.25 lakhs. This includes the hostel fees tuition fees, etc. The college provides financial assistance to students who need it. There are also scholarship opportunities.

Fee structure : Tution Fee 1lakh per sem and overall charge per sem is 1 lakh 20 thousand approx.and added Mess charge.and fee of 4years will be approx.9 lakh 50k . There are many scholarships available here for students who need finanacial aid

Generally, the fee structure varies with the income of the student's parents. Information regarding fees and various scholarships is available on the IIT Kanpur website. PhD students also get stipends for their research and Mtech students do get stipends for the work they do on campus.

The life at IIT kanpur.

Fees can be waived through various scholarships only if your parent's income is below a certain level otherwise you have to pay a full fee even if your parents are in government services you need to pay full fees. The fee for my course was around 117000.

IIT Kanpur

Fees for 1st semester were Rs 137000 and for subsequent semesters will be 117000. In total, there are 8 semesters. Also one has to consider hostel and mess charges also as they are also been add further. The scholarship is also available.

New journey at IIT Kanpur

The cost structure for this course is expensive and thus many students go for the scholarship option. Rs. 8.30 lakhs is the total fee for the entire duration of the course. Banks offer an educational loan on lower rate of interest. INSPIRE scholarship, Sports scholarship, Kunta Jha Scholarship, Shanti and Ramkishore Sahai Saxena Memorial Scholarship are the scholarships provided by the institute for the students.
