Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

The college is very close to my house around 2km away. It is one of the best colleges in our city. The faculty here is highly qualified. The college provides all the facilities. I choose this course because my elder brother is already in the field and hence can provide proper guidance.

The college is well connected to all kinds of transport and is situated in the city. College is recognised by UGC and approved by the AICTE. I really like the environment in the college which is peaceful and calm. I choose mechanics because i love knowing about cars and automobiles.

The CSE department of the college is very good. All big MNCs visit here for recruitment. The college is located in the heart of the city and hence there is no problem of transport connectivity. I choose CSE because i wanted to become software engineer.

I selected chemical engineering course in this college as it is one of the oldest and best college in India to teach chemical engineering. Faculty of this course is also very good here. The college is situated in the city and is well connected to transportation.

The NIT tag will attract any engineering student and the college maintains the reputation of that tag by providing good education to the students. The college provides good placements too. I choose Mechanical engineering because i am interested in automobiles.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
