One of my friends is pursuing her BA(H) in Applied Psychology from Amity University. According to her experience, Amity University is definitely not the best, but it is not a bad option either. Given below is a brief review of the course.

Faculty:

The faculties are well-qualified. Most of them have their Ph.D. or doing their Ph.D. from Amity University.
Although most of the teachers do not have time to come to the class because of some of the other issues. Sometimes, they are in the middle of a conference, annual function, or a Sangathan or sports day.

Attendance:

At Amity, attendance is a big issue. You need to maintain at least 75% attendance in each subject.

Extra-subjects:

In Amity, you don’t join psychology or any particular course, but the baggage of other subjects like foreign languages, English, BS, EVS, and many more. You will have to study a total of 12 subjects in the first semester itself. Out of these subjects, only some of them are useful, the rest do not even matter if they were a part of the curriculum for psychology or not.

The BA Psychology department has almost 1800 students in the department, 7 sections for BA Psychology Hons, and each section has 60 students. The faculty members are not at par with the count required to teach 7 sections. So, you might face some difficulty with the lectures taught because of the huge crowd of students attending the lecture, all at the same time, in the same hall. But this problem is temporary.

Extra-curricular:

You’ll be told to give a lot of presentations. Which helps improving public speaking skills. There are many extra-curricular activities that help in your overall development. Only proactive students take up the opportunities because this participation in these programs is not compulsory. The schedule in Amity is quite hectic.
Constant seminars and NGO projects are organized alongside your curriculum. There are summer internships for the students, just the way they are organized for other departments.

Fee Structure:

As far as fee structure is concerned, it will cost you around 1 lakh per year, which is quite high as compared to DU, which has an annual fee of 10,000.

The number of girls in each section is more. The ratio of the number of girls to boys is 8:1. It would be best for you to go for options like Ambedkar University or DU. But Amity is not that bad. You would definitely enjoy those 3 years in the university.

Fee structure is as follows 1st year- 2000000 and following University also provides scholarship I've scored more than 90% in 12th grade and university provided me scholarship of 50%. Overall great experience.

The total fees is around 6 Lacs however if a student is from an Amity school, their bachelor fees gets reduced to around 4.5L Students scoring above 95% get their fees waived off to around 36k per semester. Usual fees per sem stands around 80-90k

Dislikes

75% attendance is compulsory and you get marks for attendance. So like 5 marks for 95% 4 marks for 90% 3 for 85% 2 for 80% and 1 for 75%. If your attendance is 70% you can sit in exam but will not get anything above b grade
They will give you many assignments and you have to submit them all on time orelse you loose marks

Amity University Noida - A student's perspective

The courses they offer for each sem are good but sometimes can be a little hectic.

Fees and Financial Aid:

I enrolled in the year 2023. At that time the fees for the first semester was 92500/- plus 20000 security totalling to 112500. And then for the second semester the fees was 92500 only. The fees increases 5k after every two semesters or per year. So the fees structure for 3rd and 4th semester is 97500/sem. The total course would cost around 8 lakh rupees plus other expenses( travelling and miscellaneous expenses). There is a scholarship availible both during the admission and after each years which are merit based. You need to be in top 1% students of your batch to avail the scholarship.

I paid 97000 for 1st year as I got 50% scholarship for one semester. I will be paying 97000 per semester. My friends paid more than the fees I paid in 1st year as they didn't got any scholarships. Scholarship is based on merits
