Ques. What is the effect of internships and moots on final placements?
Ans. Internships and moots have a very important role to play in determining placements, and students have repeatedly highlighted this in conversations. Employers usually seek individuals with internship experience, drafting skills, and courtroom exposure, so students who participate in summer internships, legal research projects, and national and international moot court competitions usually get better placements. Students have also pointed out that the conversion of internships to PPOs (pre-placement offers) is a big trend, and students who actively participate in these activities can make a big difference in final placements. Internships and moots are not mere add-ons but are often what set apart successful candidates from the rest in the placement pool.
Ques. Are placements limited to only domestic opportunities?
Ans. Most of the on-campus placements at MNLU Nagpur are domestic, but students who have won international moots, published papers, or completed internships abroad sometimes get off-campus placements abroad. Students also feel that networking with law firms, seniors, and alumni over the years enables students to understand the expectations of recruiters and placement trends. This enables students not only to get better placement offers but also to feel more confident and prepared for interviews.
