- Plenty Opportunities to get a part-time job
- Teachers are helpful
- Can work in a Lab and gain practical knowledge

- Student intake is very high, which makes the competition tough
- Really good courses fill up really fast and it is tough to get courses of your choice
- Qualified professors are less in every domain making it hard to collaborate
- I used Facebook market=place , WhatsApp groups of students already there. Kaplan groups and The most problematic thing is finding clean houses, Tempe has a huge problem of bugs, and if the students do not live clean it will have cockroaches in the house.
- When searching for house only take the one with new lease, do not take sub-leased apartments as whatever damage the previous students have done will be on you and you have to pay the charge if you don't find any other new incoming student to sub-lease it.
- Here they have very strict sub-leasing rules and want the house in new condition so only take up a new lease from the apartment. My accommodation is 30 min by walk and 10 mins by bus.

- Research Opportunities:- ASU has a lot of highly funded research labs like CASCADE (Center for Assured and Scalable Data Engineering)
- Campus GYM: Sun devil Fitness complex is really huge and has a lot of facilities
- Lecture Halls: Halls are well maintained
Dislikes
- Student population is very high
- ASU has a party school environment which is really distracting
- Parking permits are really expensive
- For finding accommodation, I used online platforms like rent.com and groups on Discord and whats-app.
- The monthly rent for the entire unit is $1600, including utilities like water, trash, etc.
- The main challenge was finding roommates and sending money for the application fee and leasing documents before coming to the US.
- My recommendation for future students is to start early, as good apartments that are close to campus are in high demand.
- My apartment is 1.5 miles from the campus. Most of the Indians stay within 2 miles of the main campus.

- ASU has a great campus with modern facilities, helpful professors, and lots of clubs and events.
- The classes are interesting, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and explore new things outside of school. It’s a fun and supportive place to learn and grow.
- Great faculty. Great for research and pursuing phd.

- Lot of Indians (yes, it’s a good thing and a bad thing)
- Too many students so it’s pretty competitive.
- The courses aren’t special in the sense we pay so much and come here and the syllabus is easier compared to how we do it in India. It’s not necessarily a bad thing but I felt like I could’ve learnt everything that’s in my course online.
- I applied to 5 ish. I remember applying to DePaul, pace, UMBC, University of Michigan, ASU and Indiana Univeristy Bloomington
- Got accepted by DePaul and ASU. Pace rejected me and the rest of the application I did not complete.
- Confirmed admission from DePaul and ASU
- Rejection from PACE
- I was accepted by DePaul, ASU, and CSU, but Pace rejected me. I didn't complete the applications for the others after I decided to accept ASU's offer. I applied to Pace mostly because their application was free, though I’m unsure why I was rejected.
- ASU was an obvious choice for me because it's close to California, has a strong alumni network, and offers a great UX program. I got a lot of help from Manya with my admissions—they took care of everything, from my LORs and SOP to my GRE and IELTS exams. They even assisted with my educational loan and visa process. While ASU doesn’t require GRE scores, having an IELTS score of 7.5 is recommended.
- Admission process- I took help from manya so they were partnered with ASU so they took care of the process. If my memory serves me right, I had to do my sop, LORs, portfolio, and that’s it. Got a letter saying I was accepted.
- Eligibility criteria- Now they accept Duolingo too so ASU is a cash grab Univeristy, everyone has a place here :) just have to apply and have a decent profile
- Admission experience- Not really, like I mentioned Manya people took care of it and it was smooth.
- Intake- Fall 2023 and everyone says fall is the best time to go because of availability of jobs around graduation time
- Admission process timeline- I had all my documents ready and taken my exams a year before so all I had to do was upload and Application happened in March and acceptance in april.

- The events that they conducted during the welcome week were very fun and got to learn a lot about the university.
- The club Devil Data Science, the club helped me gain even more skills, and they have a very good vibe here so you can literally ask anything and they will help you no matter what
- ASU has a football team and a big stadium, the stadium is really pretty as the airport is nearby and flights literally pass above the stadium and it’s a very awesome thing to experience. And also became a fan of football after coming to ASU
Dislikes
- The classes are really far apart so there is a lot of walking that you have to do and it’s a bit difficult because of the heat.
- Some events like career fairs and resource fairs have limited entries and though you register before you sometimes don’t get an opportunity.
- Change of class or schedule is not that flexible.
- I opted for off-campus accommodation, which I found to be a great choice in terms of affordability and convenience. I found the place through online platforms and recommendations from student groups on Telegram and Discord.
- The monthly rent is $450, which is quite reasonable, and the accommodation includes basic amenities such as internet and utilities.
- One of the challenges I faced was the speed of securing the place due to high demand so speed was key. For future students, I suggest that you start your search early and join student groups for leads. Most Indian students tend to stay in similar off-campus housing near the university with mine located very close to campus.

- I like how there are many Indian students in the college.
Dislikes
- I dislike the opportunity of getting on-campus jobs is pretty rare.
I chose this college because of the location and rank of the college. I like it because many Indian students come here. The rank of MSCS in this college is quite good for decent admission rate.

- There is always some event happening in and around the college, whether academic or non-academic.
- There are numerous restaurants and sports stadiums where basketball and football matches are free for ASU students with an ID card. Additionally, Business School students enjoy a pre-game party before matches.
- ASU's graduation ceremony is one of the largest in the West Bay.
I received admission offer from both ASU and UTD. So in order to choose my college, I connected with some of the existing students at that time from both universities on LinkedIn. I also researched about the course curriculum, placement opportunities, faculty before finalising my college. After evaluating all these aspects, I finally chose ASU which was better in terms of almost everything.

- University is not just famous for coursework but also is very good at conducting events and parties at school which motivates us to work hard during weekdays and enjoy ourselves on weekends from university organized events . Overall we have a happy life at ASU as a student.

- Nothing about the university but the location is very hot .Except for the weather, everything is best in ASU.
ASU is very good with its coursework especially for masters in Electrical Engineering ,along with the faculty who were experts in this particular domain. Also the labs and cleanrooms in this university were ranked in top list which would help me gain practical knowledge. ASU is a very good university with super diversification and excellent coursework provided with world's best faculty to guide every individual.
I decided to study in this college because of Location, weather, sports and work opportunities. Overall, the experience is great, lots of resource, but one has to know how to use them. Huge university so one can socialise and make friends and professional contacts. But it wouldn't be serve in a platter.
I chose this college mainly because of the specialization options available while pursuing a bachelor’s The experience was pretty wholesome, a blend of cultural inclusivity and career growth.

- The events, functions and workshops organised by the clubs and organisations on campus.
- The implementation of extra credit assignments to help students bump up their grade.
- How easy it is to navigate through campus and making use of the opportunities through the abundant resources available.
Dislikes
- The food at the dining hall, the quality is subpar.
- Part time jobs extremely picky and based on luck. Do not know where applicants are going wrong.
- Tuition way too expensive and the cost in general of insurance, books and other materials
The admission process was simple, I was in touch with an institute called Aspen research. I had not decided to go to ASU, but then, after I got my offer letter, I made it an option. I discovered that they are not so bad at research and programming, and maybe the time I am there, their ranking and facilities will advance.
