Dr. A. Sreenivasa Rao is the Head of the Department of ECE at Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences. Possessing a B.Tech. in Electronics and Communications degree and an M.Tech. in Electronics and Communications degree, he also has a PhD. With over 18 years of teaching experience, Dr. Rao was ratified as Assistant Professor for JNTUH in 2017. Besides his current employment, he has also worked at Rishi M.S. Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mallareddy Institute of Technology, Marri Laxman Reddy Institute of Technology and Management, Sree Rama Institute of Technology and Science, Khammam and Madhira Institute of Technology and Science.

Dr. Sreenivasa received the “Walter Brattain International Distinguished Reader and Researcher Award 2023” in ECE from the International Multidisciplinary Research Foundation and the “Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Best Teacher Award 2021” in ECE from the Center for Professional Advancement Continuous Education. He is also the recipient of the “Ambrose Fleming Academic Excellence Award 2021” in ECE from RED TALKS International and has two Indian patents to his name. Dr. Rao has organised and/or been a part of 22 faculty development program, seminars and workshops. He has also published 18 papers in reputed international and national journals.

We at Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences focus on real-time learning by ensuring that the students actively participate in numerous activities and events organised regularly. Our students participate in workshops, hackathons and other activities that will equip them with industry requirements. They also interact with industry experts and alumni members to network and gain knowledge on what is required of them.

What are you most proud of in your career so far?

The proudest moment in my career so far is receiving the “Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Best Teacher Award 2021” in ECE from the Center for Professional Advancement Continuous Education, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. I have also received the “Ambrose Fleming Academic Excellence Award 2021” in ECE from RED TALKS International, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. These awards are a matter of pride for me.

What strategy do you employ for building an efficient work team?

We as a team are always working for the betterment of the students and we wish the students to settle their lives in good job positions. We work towards the enrichment of the student's skills. As a team, our ultimate goal is to witness the transformation of students into empowered leaders, ready to contribute meaningfully to society and carve out their paths to success with resilience, integrity, and a passion for continuous growth.

What was the most challenging task that you faced in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

The most challenging task I have faced in my career so far was conducting faculty development programs. These programs were conducted during the pandemic period through online mode and with dignitaries from IITs and NITs, where I participated as a speaker. I have learned a lot of things by conducting these events.

What do you found most difficult about being head of department?

The most difficult part of my job is to be available to everyone and listen to them. I try to be empathic and listen more instead of speaking. Handling problems and issues is also another challenge for me. To handle any sort of problem, I approach the root cause and work with them to arrive at a solution with consensus.

Any insights or advice that you would like to give to the current youth or the aspiring students?

My advice to current youth or aspiring students is to have a clear vision for their careers. They must possess a strong aim to achieve their goals. I encourage them to embrace continuous learning and adaptability, as the professional landscape evolves rapidly. Cultivating resilience in the face of challenges will empower them to overcome obstacles and emerge stronger. Networking and building meaningful connections within their chosen field can open doors to valuable opportunities.
