Mr. Jotty Jacob is the Head of the Department of Animation and Graphic Design of Rajagiri College of Management and Applied Sciences. He holds a master’s degree in multimedia from Mahatma Gandhi University along with a postgraduate diploma in graphic communication from the Academy of Digital Arts and Communication. During his professional career as a communication designer at SBL Corp, Cochin, he developed innovative and compelling graphic communication solutions, catering to a variety of national and international clients. With over 20 years of industrial experience and 15 years of teaching experience in graphic communication, he brings a wealth of knowledge both to academia and industry. He has actively contributed to the development of programmes at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, and various other institutions as a member of the expert committee for various design courses. Throughout his illustrious career, he has consistently delivered impactful visual solutions in infographics, branding, and advertising design.

What made you decide to become a teacher?
My decision to become a design teacher is driven not only by technical proficiency but also by a philosophical commitment to the transformative power of education. I view teaching as a means to inspire and empower individuals, fostering not just technical skills but also a deeper understanding of the creative process and its impact on society. Guiding students through the intricacies of design is a journey of shared exploration, encouraging critical thinking and self-discovery. I believe in cultivating a learning environment that goes beyond imparting knowledge, nurturing a holistic approach that instils creativity, resilience, and a lifelong love for the art of design.
