Ms. Megha Mohan is the Head of the Management Department at Rajagiri College of Management and Applied Sciences. She holds an MBA with a dual specialization in Marketing Management and Human Resource Management. She has extensive teaching experience of ten years. She has qualified UGC- NET in Management. To enhance her Knowledge domain, she has attended various Faculty Development Programs, Conferences, Seminars, and Workshops at National and International Levels. Her areas of specialization include Strategic Management, Marketing Management, Organizational Behaviour, and Managerial Economics.

What is the latest program that you are offering in your institute/ dept. which will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration provide ample opportunity of industry interactions and internships to student community. Experiential learning make the students industry ready and equip them well to excel in their career.


What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt for?

As compared to conventional Bachelors programs, BBA gives equal importance to academia and industry competency. Theory classes are duly supplemented with industrial projects and internships. Extension and outreach programs are inculcated as co-curricular activities to enhance the social responsibility of future citizens.


What will you say are the “best practices” in the course you’re offering?

The Campus Social Responsibility initiative of the department is the best practice followed to extend a helping hand to the needy strata of the society. Orphanages , Old Age Homes and needy educational institutions are identified through Thanal. Financial and other aids including infrastructure development is offered to these needy institutions. Another best practice to be highlighted is that every year departments adopts a unique theme and all the activities designed in that academic year will be based on that theme. The theme of current year is Nurturing Young Minds and the theme of previous years include ahead of time, holistic empowerment, sustainable development, joyful learning, etc.


How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

Individual Attention and Customized learning practices are followed in the Department. Bridge Courses are given to familiarize aspirants to the core areas and Remedial Courses are offered to refresh the learned concepts. Effective Mentor Mentee relationship helps in understanding unique learning requirements of the students Buddy learning or peer learning enhances a strong bond among student community who are ready to uplift each other.

What are the types of projects that the students are working on through this program?

Social projects addressing pressing problems of society, organizational study and internships and industrial project reports are done by the students in various semesters.

A wide horizon of higher studies and corporate placements awaits the students upon the completion of the program. Students aspiring higher education can do their masters degree in Management Studies, Commerce , Law and other Multi Disciplinary streams. Campus placements pave way to entry of students to reputed Banking and other financial institutions, Retail, IT , Hospitality and Tourism sectors.


How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

Finishing school programs and add on course on professional etiquette are conducted every year for the outgoing batch. A series of mock interviews, GDs, role palys and case studies will be conducted to enhance the employability skills of the students.


What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

Diverse background and mindset of the stakeholders especially students and parents was a major constraint. The language inhibitions, students with diverse base of subjects like Science, humanities, etc. was a bit difficult hurdle. To elevate students who were ready for a conventional degree course to an advanced level with industrial exposure was found difficult but interesting.
