Dr. K. Chandrasekhar Rangaiah is currently working as a Principal at Siddhartha Institute of Pharmacy and has 20 years of experience, out of which the first two years are Industrial experience. He got trained at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Hyderabad, and as an Executive at Sidmak Laboratories Pvt Ltd., Valsad, Gujarat State. He had 18 years of teaching experience at various Pharmacy colleges Affiliated to JNTUH. He worked as a Lecturer, Assistant Professor. Associate Professor and as Incharge Principal, as a Principal & Professor. He Guided over 20+ B Pharmacy projects and around 60 M.Pharmacy projects. He has published many articles in National and International Journals. As a PCI Inspector, inspected many pharmacy colleges across the Nation.

What is the latest program that you are offering in SIP, Hyderabad, which will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

We at Siddhartha Institute of Pharmacy offers the programs like Bachelor of Pharmacy and also Master’s Programs in Pharmacy like Master’s in pharmaceutics, Master’s in pharmaceutical analysis, Master’s in Pharmacology and Master’s in Regulatory Affairs and Diploma in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy [PHARM.D Course] and Siddhartha Institute of Pharmacy is affiliated to JNTUH and approved by PCI.


What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt?

Pharmacy is a sector that benefits society, both directly and indirectly, as well as its health & well-being. Pharmacy will play a vital role in overall social health. During the pandemic, we have seen the importance of the pharmacy industry, where all the new experiments and activities have been implemented to improve the health of the nation. Pharmacy is a noble profession. We are directly related to the healthcare of society. Educating the budding pharmacist, be it clinical or industrial, gives a new height of satisfaction, so directly or indirectly serving mankind through education is our main goal.


What would you say are the “best practices” in the course you’re offering?

Students will be having Industrial visits, which will give exposure to the industry, and hospital visits to get practical ways of learning, as well as participating in various social welfare and awareness activities, which include the Health Care Checkup Program, herbal and Medical plantations, and blood donation campaigns. Recently, we conducted a Cardiac awareness program, which will help human beings know the safety measures and practices while facing stroke. We are confident that our students will be well-trained and skilled to meet the required challenges in the Industry. Further, we encourage and conduct industrial visits, training, and internships in industries for all the students so that they will be aware of the industrial practices and will confidently meet the required protocols in their professional lives.


What are some valuable insights of the program that you are offering at your institute?

Nowadays, numerous courses have been added, and students are acquiring knowledge and executing it for the well-being of society. The program will help people to store health Data and also help in identifying health issues, knowing the possible remedies, analyzing various symptoms, and giving suitable medicine. It will also help in continuous monitoring of the patient, which helps to avoid further occurrences of the diseases.


How did you train yourself/faculty to deliver this program to the students?

The Faculty will be having Faculty Development Programs for a period of one to two weeks. They will learn and acquire various skills that will help them explain the subject to the students in a better way. Pharmacy subjects teach by faculty in different modes such as PPT, Models, Charts, virtual demos etc. conducting various seminars, Elocutions, debate and workshops to understand the pharmacy subjects in better way and also by doing pharmacy practices and results-oriented workshops to analyze and understand the subject efficiently.


What are the types of projects that the students are working on through this program?

There will be a lot of projects that students will be working on during their academic careers. In the beginning, the students will be doing preliminary projects. During these projects, students will learn the process of doing a project and various ways of using instruments, which will help them to handle and to measure to get the results. After having exposure to these projects, the students will have advanced projects like research-oriented works and research analysis, which is equivalent to a semi-Ph.D.


What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course?

After Completion of B.Pharmacy, the students will have various career opportunities. They can go for teaching for Diplomas and Industry-Oriented Works, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Quality Regulation Department, Standardization Departments, Research and Development Departments, Clinical Studies, Hospital Sectors, Clinical Sectors, Hospital Patient Care Sectors, Pharmacies, and some other government opportunities like Drug Inspectors and Clinical Pharmacists, and Govt Analyst etc. 


What do you find Most difficult about being a Principal?

As a Principal, there will be a lot of challenges that need to be faced every moment also needs to be stable. He should not become unstable in any situation and should also be very cautious while speaking with the parents, staff, students, and management and visitors. Principals need to be attentive day-to-day activities and updates from various bodies like PCI, JNTUH and other governing bodies. The Principal has to safeguard the reputation of the organization, and needs to be polite with the all. The principal should not be unstable in any situation as he is the face of the Institution.
