What are you most proud of in your career so far?

I am most proud of the impact I’ve had on my students and the strong sense of teamwork and collaboration within my department. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that many of my former students who are now pursuing higher studies and working in reputed organizations remember me and reach out through calls or messages. It signifies the lasting influence and guidance I’ve provided in their lives and it’s a testament to the quality of education and mentorship I’ve strived to deliver. Moreover, I take great pride in the team of staff in my department. Their dedication and ability to work cohesively as a team have been instrumental in achieving the best outcomes for our department and institution‘s growth and development. Building a culture of collaboration and mutual support is essential for any organization’s success, and I am pleased to see the positive impact it has had on our department and institution’s progress.


What strategy do you employ for building an efficient work team?

I believe in being transparent with all the team members. Regular discussions about the plans and ideas for improvement in various activities of the department take place. Additionally, I believe in encouraging faculty to work in small teams to organise and attend various workshops, guest lectures, and seminars. within and outside our institution. We organise common lunches and outings with the team and celebrate birthdays and other personal events of the staff in the department to develop a sense of belonging among all.


What was the most challenging task that you faced in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

One of the most challenging tasks I’ve encountered in my career was the need to lead our department through a significant curriculum overhaul. I had to align the curriculum with the rapidly evolving fields of technology and education. This required a multifaceted approach, involving a range of stakeholders, from faculty and parents to students.


What do you find most difficult about being a HOD?

One of the most challenging aspects of being an HOD is the multifaceted nature of the role. While it is a position of leadership and influence, it also comes with a set of complex responsibilities that can be demanding. Not only do I have administrative duties but I also need to listen to and address the issues of my faculty members and students. It is time consuming but also rewarding.


What is your vision for Stanley College of Engineering and Technology for Women in the next five years?

My vision for Stanley College of Engineering and Technology for Women over the next five years is to build up a foundation of innovation, empowerment and excellence. I envision our institution continuously evolving and adapting to the dynamic landscape of technology and education while remaining steadfast in its commitment to fostering the holistic development of our students.
