Pointers for Before You Begin with JEE Main 2021 Preparation
- Make a list of all essential chapters and topics.
- Go through the previous year's question papers with answer keys.
- Prefer the right study material/guide and use the same study material throughout your preparation period.
- Take-up regular mock tests and make a note of scores each time.
- Get into the habit of studying everyday.
JEE Main 2021 Preparation Tips
Understand the syllabus
- A candidate desiring to crack the exam with decent ranks should be thorough with what's inside the study material and total syllabus for the exam.
- A candidate can get the complete details on the official website of the exam conducting board.
- Go through and observe the pattern of examination from previous year's question papers.
Follow a strict time table
- A candidate should never expect a positive result/outcome without proper planning.
- The sincere aspirant who is desiring to ace the exam should follow up a regular and strict routine.
- During the initial days, just one hour for each subject is sufficient.
- Candidates with desires should slowly ace up the duration(minimum of 2-4 per subject) contributed to each question following the days.
- During the weekends, the candidate can extend the time up to 4-5 hours.
Try and understand the basics of each subject:
- Basic knowledge and ideas about the subject that you are dealing with plays a significant role.
- A candidate with no basic knowledge about the subject or topic might find it much more complicated than others to solve the questions.
- Candidates facing such difficulty can overcome it by watching a subject related video online or listening to tutors.
Start with NCERT
- Candidates who cracked the examination previously would always suggest starting from basic.
- NCERT books: NCERT books are known to one among few standard books across the country.
- Usually, most of the problems are direct questions from NCERT books.
- When it comes to chemistry, almost all reactions mentioned in the NCERT textbook are asked directly.
- Candidates should be thorough and confident with every part of NCERT textbook and move on to further complicated books/study material.
Regular practice
- Questions expected in JEE Main are mostly numerical and less concept-oriented.
- Candidates should start with fundamental problems from NCERT textbooks and slowly move on to further complicated textbooks/study material.
- Candidates should practice several methods to solve a problem.
Notes are your best resource
- An aspiring candidate should always make a note of what she/he continues to prepare.
- Experts prove that it significantly would stay in memory if something practised/studied by writing than orally studying or listening to someone explain.
- Candidates during the final preparation wouldn't find time to read everything from the textbook, the notes you prepare during the initial stage of preparation would be more than just enough to glance through during the final few days left before the exam.
Appear for regular mock tests
- Aspirants from previous years who cracked the examination say that taking up regular mock tests improved their chances of getting admission into prestigious colleges.
- Regular mock tests give candidates about types of questions expected in the final exam.
Revision routine
- Candidates taking up the JEE Main examination for the year 2021 must follow up a routine of regular revision.
- Revising a topic over and over again helps candidates in remembering a chapter over a long period.
- Candidates who top the exam frequently revise every chapter by practising and solving 20-30 problems regularly.
- Following strategies mentioned above would help candidates by drastically increasing their chances of admission in top universities across the country.
Clarity of the concept
- Candidates must get their doubts clarified immediately by asking about it to pals or professionals.
- Getting doubts immediately clarified shall help in better understanding of the subject or concept.
- Candidates can further discuss with their friends, so both get benefitted.
Depend only on yourself
- Candidates preparing for such a vast national level entrance examination shall rely on themselves more than anyone else.
- He/she should make it mandatory to rely on self-study.
- The method of self-study helps the candidates in more extended memory and understanding of the concept.
Know the pattern of examination and practice accordingly:
- The pattern of JEE Main examination is objective type.
- The paper involves add up for the right answers and also negative markings for the incorrect answers.
- Candidates appearing for the examination should prepare regularly following this pattern.
- Following and practising based on the pattern helps candidates to score much more by increasing the comfortability of the exam.

JEE Main 2021 Subject wise Preparation Strategy
Physics: Physics always is considered among the toughest subjects of all time. To overcome toughness in physics, the following strategies are to be followed:
- Build a high level of critical and logical thinking since physics requires a lot of consistent, conceptual and logical thinking.
- A high level of thinking can be achieved with regular practice of problems.
- Understand and analyse any question before answering more than just once.
- Make a separate note of essential and complicated formulae and concepts.
- Regular and constant practice is required to score more in physics.
Chemistry: Chemistry always is considered to be the easiest among the other two subjects.
- Write down all the formulas present in the textbook.
- Try and byheart all the formula.
- Understand and analyse every question.
- Know the reason behind every question and try solving them.
Mathematics: Mathematics has always remained the toughest subject for a significant crowd. To overcome toughness while solving the problems,
- Make a note of formulae chapter wise.
- Make sure that you are through with all the formula.
- Understand and analyse the questions before attempting to solve.
- Make a note of all types of questions, concepts and formulae.
- Follow a routine of practising and solving questions every other day.
- Try solving the same question in many different methods and steps to analyse, which consumes less time to solve the problem.
- Trying and solving one question in more than just one method shall help in enhancing your ability to understand.
