The National Testing Agency (NTA)

The NTA was established by the Government of India in 2017, and took the responsibility for conducting JEE Main in 2019, and has been examining it.

The Objectives of NTA include:

  • To conduct efficient, transparent and international standardised tests to assess the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions.
  • To research educational, professional and testing systems to identify gaps in the knowledge systems and take steps for bridging them.
  • To produce and disseminate information and research on education and professional development standards.

Role of NTA In JEE Main 2026

  • NTA will provide the administrative and logistic support for the conduct of JEE Main 2026.
  • To manage the IT-related support and back-end activities for pre and post-examination work, including online submission of application forms.

JEE Apex Board (JAB)

The JAB has been reconstituted for JEE for the years 2026 & 2027 for admission to UG engineering programmes in IITs, NITs and GFTIs.

The JAB is the final authority for setting up the policies, rules, and regulations for the conduct of JEE Main.

The JEE Main 2026 Paper

The JEE Main 2026 paper will follow a similar pattern as 2025.
