Government Medical College and Hospital is the only medical college in the district of Chandrapur. Government Medical College offers admission to eminent candidates to MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) course through NEET. NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is an All-India level pen and paper based exam conducted by CBSE for admission to the undergraduate medical course in colleges run with the approval of MCI.
Aspirants for MBBS course have to appear in NEET 2017 to be eligible for the admission process. This year the exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 07, 2017. GMC gives admission purely on the basis of rank obtained in NEET 2017 cut off for MBBS. The college has an annual intake of 100 students for MBBS course. Out of which 15% of seats are offered to candidates with All India Quota and rest 85% to candidates having State Quota.
