Directorate of Medical Education, Assam will conduct Assam NEET 2020 Counselling and the registration shall commence once NEET Results are declared. The counselling will be conducted for 85% State Quota seats which include approximately 726 seats in medical colleges and 40 seats in dental colleges. The seats will be allotted on the merit-cum-preference basis so the candidates are advised to choose colleges according to their score in NEET 2020

Due to the delay in the exam, the dates for post-exam events like result declaration and counselling will also be rescheduled accordingly. Although NEET 2020 has been finally scheduled for July 26, 2020, the exam is most likely to get further postponed because of the rising coronavirus cases in the country.
