The minimum percentile required to qualify NEET is 50(for general category) and 40(for reserved category). Candidates of PwD(General) category are required to secure 45 percentile to qualify NEET. Percentile is calculated on the basis of rank secured by the candidate in comparison to the rank secured by all the other candidates. The upper limit is determined by the top scorer candidate in the All-India Merit list. If a considerable number of students failed to secure the minimum fixed percentile then the cut off falls to some points on the direction of MCC.

NEET 2021 Merit List
NEET 2021 Merit List will be prepared by MCI soon after the declaration of the result.
- 15% AIQ merit list will be prepared by MCI.
- 85% State Quota merit list will be prepared by the respective states depending on the candidates who will apply for the state counselling.
- Merit list for AIQ will be prepared based on candidate’s AIR and NEET 2021 Reservation Policy.

Tie Breaker Rule work in NEET 2021
NEET 2021 tie-breaking method is mentioned below.
- Candidates with higher marks secured in Biology will be preferred over other candidates with the same marks.
- If the above method does not work then candidates with higher marks in chemistry will be preferred.
- If these methods or rules do not work then the 3rd method is used. In this method, candidates with the fewer wrong answers will be considered over other candidates.
- The last method used to break the tie is to consider age factor in which candidate older in age will be preferred for merit ranking.
