Ans. If you take my opinion then opting for IIT Gandhinagar for CSE is a better choice than going for ECE at IIT Guwahati. I am a student of IIT Gandhinagar and I can say that the CSE department is one of the best departments in terms of curriculums and placements. IIT Gandhinagar offers 4 years full-time BTech program for CSE. The average course fee for the first year is around INR 2.29 Lakhs . IIT Gandhinagar holds a ranking of 18th position out of 200 colleges in the NIRF ranking. The placement scenario for the department is good with 94.44% of students being placed in 2023 The median package is INR 25.06 LPA and the average package is INR 29.29 LPA.Read more

Here is a comparison between MNC at IIT Guwahati and CSE at IIT Patna:   Parameters IIT Patna CSE IIT Guwahati MNC Course Fee 8 lakhs 10 lakhs NIRF 2023 Engineering Ranking 41 7 Placement Percentage 98.65% 95.59% Highest Package INR 82.05 LPA INR 62.75 LPA Average Package INR 35.57 LPA INR 21.60 LPA   IIT Patna’s CSE has better placement opportunities than IIT Guwahati’s Mathematics and Computing. Moreover, IIT Patna offers many clubs and societies for its students. These include-  RnA or Robotics and Aviation Club of IIT Patna. It is a newly formed club that focuses on drones, MAVs (Micro air Vehicles), and aviation robotics.  NJACK is the Computer Science Club of IIT PATNA. Ans. According to me, opting for CSE at 2nd generation IITs like IIT Patna is a better option.  IIT Patna was established as a full-fledged IIT in 2008. Although comparatively newer, it has already created a huge impact in terms of placements and research.  The CSE department of IIT Patna is excellent. The course offers good placements and faculty. The course curriculum of CSE at IIT Patna follows leaders in this domain like Harvard, IISc and IIT Bombay. NJACK is the Computer Science Club of IIT Patna. It conducts workshops, events and competitions to boost the coding culture and knowledge of computer technology among the students. Some other clubs/societies at IIT Patna are- TINKERER’S LAB, AI-NLP-ML Group, DSC, OWASP, and many more.  IIT Patna labs are equipped with a Data-Center which has AI-GPU clusters.
