The college offers a one-year compulsory internship as part of the curriculum, which is essential for obtaining the medical degree after four and a half years of study. Internships involve rotations across all departments, the General Hospital in Trivandrum, the Mental Hospital in Oolampara, and a 1.5-month rural posting in Kerala dispensaries. The internship is available to scheduled caste students and provides exposure to patients and disease treatment, with a stipend ranging from approximately 15,000 to 25,000 INR monthly, often cited as around 23,000 INR.
Although there are no specific company offers during internships, students can work on their own projects. The course prepares students for government jobs, healthcare placements, and potential roles as lecturers, with opportunities for starting their own clinics. Research opportunities and seminars on job opportunities are also available.
