Praveenya Institute of Marine Engineering and Maritime Studies (PRIME) offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree program to the candidates who wish to pursue their career in the field of engineering. The course is offered under various specializations with the duration of four years consisting of eight semesters.
- The number of seats depend upon the nature of specializations as opted by the candidates.
- The institute also accepts B.Tech admission under lateral entry.
For admission to B.Tech program, candidates need to pass 10+2 level or equivalent examination from a recognized university with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English with at least 60% marks in aggregate. Students who have successfully completed their Diploma in relevant discipline can apply for B.Tech (Lateral).
Admission to the B.Tech specializations (Except Marine Engineering) are done through Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test, commonly called as AP EAMCET.
For admission in the Marine Engineering, the selection procedure as follows:
- Duly completed application forms date shall be scrutinized based on age and minimum educational qualification
- Short-listed applicants in Phase-I, shall be required to undergo Physical Fitness and Medical Examination, conducted by DGS approved Doctor to be conducted at the Institute.
- Candidates who have passed Phase-II shall be required to appear for an Entrance Test held on All-India basis conducted by the Institute and Andhra University jointly. The Written Test comprises of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and General Knowledge.
- Candidates successful in the written examination are required to attend Group Discussion held by the Institute.
- Candidates selected in Group Discussion will have to appear in an interview by a board of members
