Top recruiting companies like tcs,infosys,ust,tata elxi and many companies visit here for placement.
The labs are of good quality and the faculty are doing a great job.
You also have good opportunities for higher studies in universities.

Dislikes

Too much politics sometimes disrupts classes and we miss a few modules from syllabus
It put forwards skill based education but mostly fails in providing the skills necessary for the students.
Exams are done for namesake and the paper correction procedure is way too lazy.

Good environment to learn and best faculties
The college has no uniform for students.
Better hostel facilities and food.better lab

Dislikes

College has no play ground and playing equipments
Collage has less area .The campus was small
Collage have no auditorium for culturals

Placement Experience:

Placement Training At present, the competition for employment is increasing every day and placement has become a challenging task. Training students and equipping them with life skills has become an important responsibility of the institution. Along with technical expertise, the development of a holistic personality is also necessary. To meet these requirements, a fully-fledged training cell is operating in our college CGPU to enhance the capabilities of engineering graduates on par with the industry standards.

Myths and truths of SCT

Likes

Unlike other engineering colleges in kerala,especially government control ones you get hell alot of freedom.there is no uniform nor you have to get permission to go outside.student union is also available for helping you when you need any help.
Another positive thing i feel about this college is campus politics.Some may see this as negative thing but campus politics is vital for college students.You get the right to choose the union leaders.
Transportation feasibility .The location of this college is a major plus point.It is only 4-6 km from the trivandrum central railway station and public transportation is availible 24x7.Further this college is located in the highway side

Dislikes

Campus is a major con of this college.It has a small campus consisting of four to five buildings including main block.All classes are packed in the main block and other buildings are used as labs for variius department
Since it has a small campus the campus life is also boring.there is no much place for chilling togerther with friends. Campus is usually crowded in the evenings in the one or two socialising space available
Professor's may not be supportive as u think they are at first.Student centric Professors are rare.Most of the staffs are taken on contract basis .Most of the staff's come in with a tom of ego.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Sadly current curriculum i am in doesnt prepare you for real world.They just test you work ethic by forcing you to mug up for exams.exams are long and also can be crowded together to a week or two.Also semesters are too short .So each students don't get enough preparation time. The curriculm gives no exposure the industrues .s Physical education and some changes in the syllabus has been brought in the new schemes .But other things remain unchanged

College staffs are helpful and covers all portions
Friendly batch mates from all around kerala
Hostel friends are also great and helpful

Dislikes

The college doesn't have a proper campus and the outside area is not great either.
The college doesn't have ground or any space
The college have restrictions as it's not a open campus

The curriculum of my current course of Bachelor of technology ( Biotechnology and Biochemical) provide all the necessary portions to develop professional knowledge about biotechnological field and application of chemical engineering in biological sector.

What should you except?

Likes

50:50 girls to boys ratio,Very approachable faculties, friendly teaching methods,excellent mentorship, great assistance in project related works .
Great infrastructure, good environment, availabilty of canteen , all kind of celebration whether onam, Christmas, sports, arts, concert etc.....
Great exposure to the field of study, seminars, conference, workshops,enchance both personal nad professional development

Dislikes

Timing of college bus, irregularity of bus
Distance of lab from class, had to travel abit
Very fashionable college, pretty girls and boys

Placement Experience:

Students eligible for placements from third year. Companies visited include bosch, zifo, tata lexi, vipro and many more..morethan 100 students get placed each year.highest package of 1,00,000/- and average package of 40,000/-. After getting the degree I plan on continuing my studies by doing a research after taking Mtech in it.

My Campus Experience

Likes

The campus is eco friendly and teachers are willing to help and take good care of the student's.
The infrastructure has been improved and is improving over the academic years and they really look forward to the welfare of the student's studying there
The placements and internship opportunities are really well provided and the help for attending the interview is been held through conducting orientation classes yearly

Placement Experience:

Our campus has a major number of placements and they are placed for high job paying salaries even for freshers and they provide a great intersnhip and training facilities for the people who have joined our campus

Most of the facalities are good ,Teachers provide all support to students .
The collage functions are very amazing and sct have south indias one of the best cultural festival
The collage have a good vibe and climate ,nature.

Dislikes

Some of the collage facalities are not so good in teaching , They tried to teach in their way . but most of students dont understand the concepts.
The collage have a space limit ,goverment need to provide more space . Due to lack of space students cant able to explore the collage life .

The college has a placement cell that functions very well, the college provides placement training to the students every year. the college conducts some placement activities for students to prepare for interviews.

Supportive faculty with proper training.
Our advisor was helpful in every scenario for us.

Small campus, less ameneties for sports and activities related to that
Certain faculties can be a bit conservative in nature.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum mainly focuses on the technical side of the subject being an engineering course. Mathematical models play a significant role in developing and extrapolating the syllabus to application level. Life sciences are also there as core subjects and electives in higher semesters. It heavily encompasses the general relevant technical aspects of modern biotechnology too.

Definitely a well recommended government college for a very good course

Likes

It is a Government sponsored institution. Hence it accepts students from all socio-economic backgrounds. The fees is comparatively low.
There are a lot of opportunities to study and learn. There is a very big library with many resources accessible to all students.
Students can partake in a a lot of social activities. There are clubs for a lot of activties and sports. The fests are very big. The main fest of the college is called Cult'A'Way and is held on the Kanakakunnu Grounds in Trivandrum.

Dislikes

The campus is quite small. The ground and building are small.
The teachers while being experienced may not provide the best training.
While a lot of companies offer placements, the average lpa varies from only 5 to 10 lakh rupees per annum.

Placement Experience:

Students can appear for campus placements starting from final year. Big companies such as Cognizant, Oracle, Quest Global, Tata Elxi recruit from the college. Biotechnology students also get placement offer from Zifo. The highest package was around 10 lpa. Mechanical students also get placed in fields of their interest.

Campus atmosphere and freedom given to students. more good college life as it is a govt controlled institution
fest conducted and the frequent celebrations conducted and getting chance for good interaction and involvement
versitile lab facilities and experienced staff to demonstrate it especially in mechanical branch

Dislikes

The syllabus is under KTU. so its not updated and it have flaws
rude behaviour of some teachers with personal grudge
poor and old infrastructure and small campus area

The faculty comprises experienced professionals who are dedicated to providing a comprehensive education. The college offers a wide range of engineering branches including mechanical, electrical, civil, computer and biotechnology.

Dislikes

The hostel facilities have room for improvement. Food quality and hygiene in the mess can be improved.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's my personal interest to take mechanical engineering in b tech and I like to study in this branch. In real world it gives us job opportunities and helps us to deal with such type of applications come in our daily life basis. The exams are not at all tough but if we doesn't study it makes us harder for the future.
