St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology Kolkata Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The placement of the college is average. During my time Cognizant and Infosys use to visit the campus and they hired many students. The ctc offered by the company was around Rs 3.5 lakhs per annum. Those who are unplaced need to apply off campus to other companies.

The curriculum doesn't focus on real life and us nit very relatable jn certain sectors in industry.... Only software courses are relatable because only IT companies takes placement in our college... No core companies takes placement in our college

The aspects that influenced me to choose this course as it is a very demanding course these days.In this college the faculty is very good and it teaches the course very properly.The exam timings are good also the difficulty is quite descent .The person should have to study thoroughly to pass the exam.There should be installed smart boards in class so that is the only thing to improve.

Placement is decent except this year. As very less company have visited due to recession. Companies like Tcs, wipro, infosys, Accenture, Cognizant visit college every year. Highest package ranges between 12-18 lakhs and average package is around 6 lakhs. 70-80% students got placed last year. But percentage is less this year due to recession. I plan to go for off campus placement if I didn't get the desires amount from on campus placement.

I am pursuing electrical engineering here so subject is very interesting but you have to have basic knowledge of mathematics and basic physics. This course consists of large of subjects which is draw back here.

From seventh semester the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies visited are like TCS, Cognizant, infosys, mindtree and many others. The avg pkg is 6 lpa and highest is 12 lpa. 90 percent students gets placed.

The placement rate of this college is quite goid in this time as well . Placement of computer science and Engineering and Information Technology students are most and they get good package at all. Other departments of this college is also good in placement but they also get placement in IT based companies.

The curriculem is good the teacher and staff are very supporting.They help us when we get struck in some subject.the campus is very beautiful.The canteen is also decent.The teacher and staff are also good with us.They are very supportive and cooperative

It has become quite decent in recent time due to recession . College needs to focus more on Placement Cells as reccesion is affecting the present scenario of IT Hub. Companies like CTS, Mindtree , P360 , Nomura visits our college.

Placement is a bit disappointing this year (2024) obviously due to some proper reasons otherwise in other years it's very good. After 6th semester students are eligible for sitting in the placement exams.
