Placement Experience:

So there are placement weeks for each of the two batches. First for a summer internship and then for the final placements. These two weeks usually happen in November and December. All the students are usually eligible for campus placements until and unless any individual wishes to opt out of the placement process. There are diverse range of companies visiting the campus to name a few are Deloitte, KPMG, Gartner, Shell, JP Morgan Chase, etc. Companies from different sectors such as FMCG, consulting firms, manufacturing firms as well as IT companies. All of these visit campus. Each year all the students get placed from the campus placement drive itself. The highest package offered last year was 50 lakhs per annum whereas the average package was 17.01 lakhs per annum. Profile offered were such as product manager, business analyst, area sales manager etc.

The following answer is based on my brother's experience in IMI New Delhi from where he completed his graduation last year. He mentioned the various aspects of the Institute like placements, infrastructure, and faculty. I have summarized his viewpoint under the following headings

Infrastructure: The infrastructure was strictly average and nothing more than that. However, being located in the heart of the city it was easy to access various sports complexes. A basketball and a volleyball court are also available.
Faculty: Being taught under such experienced professors is one of the best parts of being an IMI Delhi student. These professors are highly experienced and have a history of extensive research.
Crowd: The crowd is a talented pool of students, some even with 99 percentiles. The students ranked well in terms of other aspects also like work experience and overall profile.
Placements: Addressing the most sensitive issue, the placements are surely decent enough to get you good company. Many big brands visit the campus and good profiles are offered. You need to fill out the EOI and sit for the company you desire to join. With a legacy of more than 30 years, IMI New Delhi attracts big names to its campus. However, make sure you depend more on your own performance than the institute to guarantee a good placement package.

Overall my brother was very satisfied with the results of the placements and claimed his hard work did really pay off in the end.

Are placement figures of New IIMs, IMT Ghaziabad and IMI Delhi inflated or genuine?

I can say with certainty that IMT Ghaziabad’s placement figures are highly inflated mainly because my own sister was a victim of the same. The placement committee portrays the inflated packages in different ways. The situation is worse at IMT Delhi. The students who join such colleges are mainly drawn because of the placement reports feeling wronged and rightly so.

IMT Ghaziabad’s summer placements witnesses most of the batch receiving stipends of around 15-20k only. Some students even have to go for unpaid internships. Most of the students get placed in start-ups only.

The final placements are all the more inflated with so many hidden variables that make it even impossible to identify the root cause of inflation. A major part of the batch receives an in-hand salary of around 60-65k only.

The new IIMs also have inflated placement figures but this problem is way more serious at private institutes like IMT, NMIMS, SIBM, and SCMHRD. The real average package offered at IMT Ghaziabad is around INR 10 LPA only. Many students are offered packages as low as 5-6 LPA while many remain unplaced.

Is IMI Delhi a good college looking at all aspects like exposure, teaching, placements, etc.?

Selection Criteria: Itis quite stringent, thereby filtering the best minds in the country to the institute. This enables the students to collectively benefit through the process of peer learning guided by the amazing faculties. Students are shortlisted for admission based on their CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/ATMA/GMAT scores. The final selection is done based on Academic Performance, Performance in Extempore Speaking, Psychometric Test, Essay Writing, and Personal Interview.
Infrastructure:It is one backdrop on the campus; the campus is small and doesn’t have much space for expansion.
Placements:The batch strength of the students is small, so students get good opportunities in placements. Top brands like Citi Bank, Goldman Sachs, Citi Bank, Axis Bank, Google, Salesforce, Airtel, Nestle, RB, etc. hire from the campus. The average salary of IMI Delhi is on par with the newer IIM’s, but since the fees of the college are not very high, it provides a good ROI. The students get placed with average salaries of around 13.07 LPA while the highest CTC is around 20 LPA.

What is the highest and the average package of PGDM HR Program of IMI Delhi?

The average package for the PGDM HR is INR 15.58 LPA at IMI Delhi. IMI Delhi placements 2023 concluded with 100% placements. A total of 100+ Recruiters participated including 40+ new recruiters. Students received 3 International offers during the placement drive. Deloitte, KPMG, Capgemini, Aditya Birla, Kotak Bank, Adani, Genpact were some of the Top Recruiters. I

The number of students placed for the PGDM course are 231, with an average package of INR 17.20 LPA, and the highest package is INR 50 LPA at the IMI Delhi. The number of students placed for the PGDM B&FS course are 40, with an average package of INR 16.48 LPA, and the highest package is INR 50 LPA at the IMI Delhi. The number of students placed for the PGDM HR course are 35, with an average package of INR 15.58 LPA, and the highest package is INR 20.50 LPA at the IMI Delhi. IMI Delhi saw an increase of 56.25% in the highest package which stood at INR 50 LPA whereas IMI Delhi Average Package increased by 15.24% which stood at INR 17.01 LPA and the Median Package stood at INR 16.33 LPA.
