Aryabhatta College: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 21 Reviews

Aryabhatta College, University of Delhi, is recognized for its experienced and approachable faculty, particularly in BA Hons courses such as Economics, Political Science, History, Psychology, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics, and Accounts. The faculty-to-student ratio ranges from 1:25 to 1:60, which is fair, and mentors guide groups of 30-40 students. However, there are concerns about irregular class schedules, limited study materials, and inconsistent teaching methods, especially in newer courses like PMS. The college is enhancing its placement and internship opportunities, notably for the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) course.

The first BMS batch graduated in 2020, with placement packages typically between 4-5 LPA and the highest reaching 21 LPA. The average package is about 5-6 LPA, with 40-45% of students securing placements. Companies like KPMG, Jaro Education, Amazon, Decathlon, and UrbanClap participate in placements. Internships, facilitated by the college's placement cell, offer stipends ranging from INR 1,000 to 15,000 per month. The placement process starts in the fifth or sixth semester, contingent on attendance and academic performance.

The annual fee for the BMS course is approximately INR 33,620, excluding a semester examination fee of about INR 1,310. The total fee includes tuition, lab, admission, and development fees, with an exception for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) who pay INR 1,000 annually. Fees may rise by 8-10% annually. Financial assistance is available, particularly for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and students with family incomes below INR 8 lakhs, who may receive scholarships up to 100-50% under a Delhi University scheme.

Scholarships are mostly merit-based, with various centrally sponsored and category-specific options. Although there was no fee reduction during online classes, the college offers financial support for students in need.
