Likes

Various big companies offering a good package comes to college every year and a good number of student get placements every year.
A good faculty having a great mentor skills and expertise in different subjects, teachers are helpful and coordinator.
There are not as many fests as in other colleges but we do have a good number of clubs and societies that makes college life interesting and exciting.

Dislikes

The annual fest is very nice and happening but the regular college life is close to hell if you are an average student.
The fines are more in this college and students faces a lot of problems
The professors are unfriendly and sometimes very rude and not understanding. also i find them pretentious.

Placement Experience:

The number of placements given to students was very less and most of the companies did not come to the college campus. The students took the placements very lightly

St. Xavier's, Kolkata- A place where dreams come true

Likes

Faculty was very knowledgeable and helped us solve our doubts always
Discipline & adherence to rules made the institution a very prosperous haven for learning
The various opportunities provided in college helped enhance our skills & knowledge

Dislikes

The infrastructure sometimes became a problem as many classes still dont have air conditioner
The lack of flexibility in case of emergencies sometimes makes it difficult to adhere to rules
The unavailability of morning batches for girls who want to pursue b.com course

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course imparts great knowledge on commerce, accounts & various finanve & business related concepts. It prepares us for business related occupations by providing comprehensive knowledge. Everything else was alright & reasonable.

Your second home, St. Xavier's College.

Likes

The fests, placements are good some of the top companies come every year and take many students for the job. The prestigious name of the organisation and advancements in infrastructure and teaching.
The teachers and support staff is very good and helpful.

Dislikes

The timing is a bit harsh. 6 am classes are a bit too stressful somedays.
Hostel amenities not very good, but it is bearable

Placement Experience:

After 2nd year students are eligible for campus placements. They have to choose the companies and provide their CVs to the placement cell of the college which then forwards it to the companies. Deloitte,pkmy, godrej are some of the top companies that took students for their company roles. Highest package was 23 lakhs and average was around 4.5 lakhs. Percentage of students getting placed were 70. I plan to get a master's degree after completing my graduation.

All about SXC!

Likes

The Faculty is top notch. The professors are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable
The infrastructure is like no other! The campus is huge
The societies help you form your personality and are a great addition to your CV

Dislikes

We have to sit roll number wise which makes socializing difficult
The B.Com evening timing for girls is 4:15-8:05pm which is not good
Attendance is a must which can be troublesome if you are doing a professional course

Placement Experience:

There is a Placement Cell. Top companies come to the college for placement. In 2023, 30% students were placed and 90% recieved internships. Highest package was 24LPA and average was 7LPA last year. Companies like TCS, Delloite, JP Morgan, Google, etc visit. I plan on finishing my CFA after getting my degree

The Campus is good and everyone is very friendly. All the students were supportive and cooperative with each other.
Lastly, it has a suitable environment for studies.
The teachers were also very friendly and could easily approach them if there was any sort of doubt or anything regarding any topic.

Dislikes

The campus is a bit small. I wish it was a bit bigger. And if it was in a separate campus from the school

As for extracurricular activities, it offers extravagant opportunities and has societies and cells be it drama, management, entrepreneurship, dance etc It conducts debate competitions, dance, other more educational events too

Likes

The infrastructure of the college is excellent providing all the amenities starting from canteen , spacipus computer labs, air conditioned Classrooms, A whole dedicated area for Central library with 3 spacious reading rooms, playgrounds, football cou
The support and office staff are also quite well versed and friendly.
The professors are highly cooperative with excellent teaching skiils.

Dislikes

The course curriculum is rigorous and strict
It has a minimum attendance requirement which is 75%
It follows a strict pattern for its activities and curriculum

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is as far the best than any other college in West Bengal for a similar or same course. Few of the top companies such as Pwc, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, Accenture etc come to hire students every year.

Professors are highly qualified and are very experienced
The campus is very big and beautiful with a number of facilities available.
The college and it's societies provide many academic and non academic opportunities and help in overall development of students.

Dislikes

The canteen food is not up to rhe mark..
Only few classrooms are air conditioned.

The opportunities a student gets here is just excellent, the numerous societies lets the student choose his area of interest and work on it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course of Bcom is possibly the best here in St Xavier's College, the cut offs are high and the best students of accountancy gets admitted here. The curriculum is vast and diverse, from Tax to Cost Management, it brings us to the whole world of commerce and industry. The opportunities we get are also helpful in gaining industrial knowledge and on site experience
