Likes

They treat us well and also they give their best in teaching so that we can understand the topics easily.
Students studying in our institution can opt for scholarships and get the chance to study with minimum or free admission.
Also on the other hand , various entertainment programs and activities were also held so that the students can participate in them as well as enjoy the college life.

Dislikes

The area is very commercial so it can be a bit chaotic at times. Also, there's a lot of traffic jam
I disliked nothing there, those were my golden days in that institute.
Campus food menu is not likeable to everyone

Gauhati Commerce College- My Happiness.

Overall college is very good but only need improvement in Field. Field is not in a good condition
Campus is good, we have both boys and girls hostel and most of the students are free and frank
Culturally Gauhati Commerce College is very active

Course Curriculum Overview:

1) I was motivated from my parents, they prefers me to choose Bcom course. 2) In 12th standard- Their capacity is 800 seats and for Bcom , faculty provides 1100 seats... 3) College faculty is really helpful and most of the teachers are friendly and Graduated... They are experienced professor's... 4) Bcom have two exams per semester... In 1st semester,our classes starts from August and sessional exam starts in September last... And in November last,or December first week, final exams starts..

A summary of my college life

Likes

The college ambience is very welcoming and it creates a peaceful environment for the students.
The students are friendly and the quality of my social interaction is quite good with people.
The college events that they organise are very joyous. And the quality and standard of the events are upto the mark.

Dislikes

The faculty's expertise, teaching methods and mentorship quality is very poor. The teachers are very rude and they do not pay much attention to the students.
There is no effectiveness of the placement services and the support provided for career advancement.
The quality of the infrastructure is quite weak including campus amenities and learning facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I don't have any issue in the overall curriculum. I just wanted to have a bcom degree and thus I chose this course. The curriculum prepares us for interacting with people, gives us knowledge and training as of how to work in an environment and also prepares us for other career development courses or other competitive courses. The course needs to improve more in the practical training aspect and teachers need to teach in a manner that will benefit the students in both practical and theoretical field. The timing of exams is either in the morning or in the afternoon. The frequency is okay according to me in perspective on their difficulty level.

The most convenient commerce college.

Likes

The things the liked the most is the discipline curriculum of the teachers and the management.
And also the washroom s are mostly clean.and The playing ground provides a field for many sports.
Although the classroom s are clean but it can be better.

Dislikes

Not much facilities for handicapped students.
The girl to boy ratio is quite equivalent
The canteen is much costly.Not affordable for students belonging to bpl.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The bcom course is a good way to start your carrier thats why i coosed this cource. This curriculum prepares me for the marketing world and to prepare me for the world of economics. The areas for improvement are in the maths curriculum and method of teaching can be improved. The exam timing is twice a year and it is not much difficult

Gauhati Commerce College : A premier Institution for Conmerce Education with Evolving Opportunities.

Well, my college has a big playground in that playground. We can enjoy various kinds of sports during the annual meet or sports week with the students can engage in various sports activities like Indoor and outdoor sports, so it’s a good advantage
The college also has pretty decent Library, which contains several books of many languages, including English,Hindi,Assamese,Bengali, Bodo and other languages, and it’s free for the students. We don’t have to pay an additional fee to use the library.
The teachers or professors of the college are very friendly and they do explain the lectures very easily and sometimes they use our own mother tongue to let the students understand the concept easily

Dislikes

Few teacher professors from the college are very rude and aggressive towards students. Few professors have lot of ego problems.
In college, few classes do not have air conditioning facility .So, during summer season, it’s very hard to study in those classroom that doesn’t have any AC
The peon or the staffs of the college does not have proper civic sense, and they do talk very rudely towards the students like in a very impolite manner

Well, nothing specific has influenced me in the decision to choose this course that is BCOM as most of these student after passing shoes, so I also opt to BCOM. Well, the curriculum does not fully prepare the students for real world applications or further academic pursuits. They does not provide any practical knowledge or any kind of internship to the students for the real world. Well, according to me, they should provide some internship or something related to practical knowledge. This improvements are very necessary. The frequency and timing of exams is very low like within four months the university tries to complete the whole semester, and it's very hard to complete the whole syllabus within just four months.

Life of GCC

Likes

Teachers are friendly and lenient. Campus has places to relax
There is no need to have 75 percentage of attendance

Dislikes

Infrastructure could be improved like the rooms desks benches etc

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is ok. I believe some of the things will not help you with real world applications but will give a range of informations. The teaching methods of some faculty are and some not that good. Exams are well timed and pretty difficult.

My Experience on the Institution

Likes

The staff there is friendly and helpful.
The students I met there are also kind and friendly.
The infrastructure of the college is good.

Dislikes

I think better technology should be used in some educational purposes.
The College Field is comparatively small.
I don't have more to say for now. Will think about it later.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Course that is provided in the college is good. The different subjects that are used in the couse are really good for career purposes. It also provides knowledge about various topics and are interesting to study about.

The first thing i liked is the surrounding. It is a very neat and clean College with full of greenery and a beautiful campus.
Secondly what i liked is the attitude of most professors. They are very friendly and chilled.
Another thing i like about thr College is that there are many eateries in the area students can devour delicious foods from. Its like a hotspot for fast foods.

Dislikes

One thing i dont like is the attitude of some of the professors. Mostly the senior professors. They have a huge ego problem.
Have ac in many classes but they aren’t maintained. So during summers it is not of much use.
Toilets are not maintained properly. Many dirty toilet are there. They should hire more workers for the washrooms. But thry have limited 3-4 workers.

Bcom from Gauhati Commerce College is a great thing to be heard of if you are from Assam. As it is a renowned college and many alumni are influential and big personalities. So yes bcom is a god course. But it is not much real world based i guess. As modern day is changing rapidly but our syllabus and course haven't changed much from a decade or more. One can see it by seeing past years papers.

There are a lot of opportunities for our personal development
The faculty members are very kind and well behaved
There are NCC , NSS , and other units that help you explore various adventures

Dislikes

Most of the AC are not in working condition
Floods on rainy days , even a tiny rain is enough to cause flood
Rules for attendance of students aren't strict enough

* My aim is to do MBA therefore I choose this course * I'd give 7/10 for its real world applications * They should install screens and sound boxes in every class * Sessionals are held after 2 months of the semester and finals are held in the 4th month

Teahers, they are really intelligent amd knows to explain the students
The sports area of our college is cool because we have many options in sports to play
The college is affordable thus helps the students who belongs to below poverty line

Dislikes

The infrastructure could be improved, the classes are too far away from each other.
Focus on hygiene myst be given. Washrooms are very dirty.
Infrastructure in case of flooding must be improved.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always wanted to graduate with a b.com degree course. They do tell us real life experiences about businesses. The course could have been improved if there were more practical thrn theory. The difficulty level of exam is moderate.
