Students also ask

Ques. Should I prefer IHE courses or other DU colleges for better placement in future?

Ans. Placement in this college is average not very high. Many students go for higher study instead job. Courses like Food Technology and Journalism give some good chances but depend on skill. Colleges provide training and internship help also. So placement fully depends on student effort, not only the college name.

Ques. Can I apply for multiple courses in IHE during the CSAS counselling process in DU admission?

Ans. Yes, you can apply for many courses at the same time in the CSAS portal. Delhi University allow to fill many courses and a college preference list. Order is very important because seat allotment is based on this. More preferences mean a greater chance of getting a seat. But once the final submit done, you cannot change it later.

Courses Course Detail

Students also ask

Ques. Should I choose the IHE M.Sc course or another DU college for a better future scope?

Ans. M.Sc from this college is good for fields like Food Nutrition and Designing. Course give practical knowledge and research skills also. But competition is high, and seats are limited. Future scope depends on your skills, internship and higher studies also. Many students go for a PhD or a job in nutrition, labs, fashion field after this.

Ques. Can I get admission in IHE M.Sc without the CUET PG exam in any case?

Ans. No, for PG courses, admission is mostly based on the CUET PG exam in the University of Delhi. Without this exam chance is very low or not possible. You must take the exam and then apply to CSAS counselling. Also need a bachelor's degree with required marks. So, CUET PG is the main step for getting a seat in this college.

IHE DU Diploma Admission 2026

Here are the Course names and Course Details for all the Institute of Home Economics Diploma courses:

Courses Course Detail

Students also ask

Ans. This diploma is good for the nutrition and diet field. Course include practical learning and hospital internship, which helps in real experience. After this student can work in a hospital, clinic or health centre. But placement is not guaranteed, so skill is very important. Many students also go for higher studies after a diploma.

Ques. Can I get a job easily after the IHE DDPHN diploma course in the nutrition field?

Ans. Job possible after this course, but not very easy. A student can work as dietician, nutrition assistant or in a wellness centre. Internship help to get experience, but a job depends on skills and knowledge. Many time student need an extra course or practice also. So career growth is possible, but need effort and patience.\

Students also ask

Ques. Should I do an IHE diploma course or go for an M.Sc. for better career growth?

Ans. A diploma is a short course and gives basic knowledge in the nutrition field. M.Sc is a higher degree and give more deep knowledge and better job options. Many companies prefer a master's degree for a good salary. So a diploma is good for a quick start, but for long-term growth M.Sc is a better option, mostly for students.

Ques. Can I apply IHE diploma course without a science background in my graduation degree?

Ans. It depends on the course requirements and eligibility rules. Some diplomas in nutrition need science or related subject for graduation. If not, then admission can be difficult. You should check eligibility before applying. Delhi University follow strict rules, so subject requirements matter a lot for the admission process.

IHE DU Admission FAQs

Ques. Can I get a hostel in IHE, or do I need to arrange a stay outside of college in Delhi?

Ans. No hostel is available in this college. Students have to find a PG or rented room in the nearby area. Many options there, but the cost depends on location and facility. The average cost may be 8k to 15k per month. So, better start searching early before admission confirmation because good places fill up fast.

Ques. Is attendance very strict in IHE, or can I manage without regular class attendance?

Ans. Attendance is important in this college. Around 67% attendance is needed for the exam. If there is less attendance, then problems can arise, such as not being allowed in the exam or having marks cut. Some teachers are also strict. So, better attend classes regularly, otherwise issues happen later in the semester.

Ques. Can I take a gap year and still get admission in IHE through the CUET process?

Ans. Yes gap year is not a problem in Delhi University admission. You just need a valid CUET score and follow the CSAS process. College will not reject you because of a gap. Only eligibility and marks matter. Many students take a gap for preparation and still get admission without any issue.

Ques. Is a laptop necessary for studying in IHE courses, or does college provide enough computer labs?

Ans. A laptop is not necessary, but very helpful. Many assignments and project online. College have computer lab, but sometimes busy. So a personal laptop makes work easy and fast. Especially for journalism or science courses, it helps more in practical and presentation work, also.

Ques. Can I change my course after admission to IHE if I am not satisfied later?

Ans. Course change is not easy after admission confirmation. The DU system does not allow easy switching. You can only upgrade in the next round before the final freeze. After that, no change is possible. So choose the course carefully during CSAS preference filling because later option very limited for change.

My choice for B.Sc. Hons Food Technology in this college was not due to limited options but instead of that I knew what career choices I wanted to make for the life that I manifest. I was getting admission in various other courses of different colleges but still I chose what was right for my career. The admission process is very simple, first clear your 12th board exams, then there is the CUET examinations , clear it with much decent marks and then there is the Csas counselling process. The cutoff is generally not high but the fewer courses makes it difficult to make it through.

It was not like that I wasn't getting admission in other colleges except this one but the chice that I made was majorly due to the career planning that I had done in the early stages. I chose this college because of the advanced facilities it provide and also it is easier to commute for me to the college and back to my home and vice versa. The admission process involves clearing the 12th boards, then the CUET with decent marks, the cutoff is not much high for this college, but due to fewer courses, the competition feels tougher.

This college has very limited courses so there are decent number of children. I got confirmed admission from Gargi College also but that college has a bad reputation for things. I chose this as the faculty and pedagogical practices of this college are well praised in university.

My admission was based on merit basis, i.e., on the basis of my class 12th percentage. I found the application form on the official website of Delhi University. No reservation benefit is availed. Mine was a late admission, and I got the seat when someone left it to go to another college. It would be better if they had a more attentive admin dedicated specifically to enrollment-related queries, otherwise, it becomes very confusing.
