Gujarat Board SSC Exam Pattern 2023

The detailed GSEB SSC exam pattern is mentioned below:

  • Each subject carries a maximum of 100 marks.
  • The exam duration of each question paper is 3 hours.
  • Students need to score at least 33% marks to pass the exam.
  • Each question paper consists of two parts namely A and B. Both section carry 50 marks each.
  • Both Part A and Part B covers different types of questions.
  • Part A consists of theoretical questions and Part B consists of MCQ-type questions.
  • Part B is further divided into four sections:
  1. Section A will assess the knowledge of the subject and will carry 15 marks.
  2. Section B will be based on understanding of the subject and will carry 10 marks.
  3. Section C will consist of application based questions and 10 marks will be allotted to this section.
  4. Section D will consist of skill based questions and will carry 15 marks.

GSEB introduced the Grading pattern to evaluate the Gujarat Board SSC Exam in 2011. According to this pattern, the percentage of students is to be calculated on the scale of grade. The rank of student in grading pattern is calculated with the below-mentioned rule :

step: 1 The obtained percentile of students is subtracted from 100.

step: 2 The obtained marks are to be multiplied by the total number of students who appeared in the exam for this particular section.

step: 3 Then the obtained marks are divided by 100 to get the exact rank of the student in the exam.
