Are ICAI Exams Difficult to Pass?

Yes, becoming a Chartered Accountant is very challenging as it demands a 5-year commitment to study and a deep understanding. The CA syllabus is very vast, and there are lower passing rates every year, which makes it one of the most difficult competitive examinations.

A CA aspirant posted on Quora,

The reason for failure in CA is a lack of consistency and preparation... CA is a continuous 5‑year journey... With proper planning and the right strategy, one can clear the exams.”- Quora.

Will the CA syllabus change for the May Session?

As per ICAI’s New Scheme for Education & Training, the CA May session exam pattern will be the same as the January Session.

  • CA Foundation: 4 Papers (No reductions) but updated content
  • CA Intermediate: 6 Papers (divided into two groups)
  • CA Final: 6 Papers (Earlier, 8 papers)

Can I Pass CA Foundation in 7 days?

Passing the CA foundation is not a school-based monthly exam where you revise subjects a day before the exam and get good marks. The CA Foundation consists of four papers with a vast syllabus.

Completing it in 7 days is very difficult, honestly impossible as per experts and CA Finalist, Pranit Bhandari. You can just revise two CA Foundation topics in 7 days. According to him, it’s difficult to pass CA Foundation by covering only 50% of the syllabus (sorry to disappoint, but that’s the truth). You need to cover at least 70–80 % of the syllabus to pass the exams.”
