The scientific name of Ant is Formicidae. An ant is a small- sized invertebrate found in all regions of the world except Antarctica and the Arctic Circle. There are more than 12000 ant species in the world which are recognized officially. They are said to have developed from wasp-like creatures 100 million years ago.
