JKBOSE to Conduct Class 10 and 12 Examination after November 15; Check Details Here

The Jammu and Kashmir Board Of School Education has decided to conduct the annual examination of Class 10 and 12 on November 15, 2020. The exams will be over by December 20, 2020.

Veena Pandita, Chairperson of JKBOSE said that the annual exam of Class 10 and 12 will be conducted in offline pen and paper mode. She stated that all the COVID 19 precautionary measures will be followed before allowing students inside the exam hall.

She further informed that the exams were delayed until November to provide time to students to prepare well for the examination. Hence the exam will be conducted for class 10 and 12 students simultaneously on alternative days.

Soon a meeting of the academic committee of JKBOSE will be held and a decision regarding conducting the annual examination for class 11 and other lower classes will be taken.

Because of the ongoing pandemic, the government has already announced a reduction of 30% of the syllabus for class 10, 11, and 12. She also mentioned that the board will finalize the arrangements for setting up the exam hall.

Prof Aijaz Ahmad Hakak, the Joint Secretary of JKBOSE stated the number of students registered for class 10 and 12 examinations is being calculated. The number of exam centers will be announced after that.

He also added that due to social distancing norms the number of students per exam center will be reduced by 50%. Hence there will be twice the number of exam centers this year. The buildings of the Department of Higher Education (DHE) or the buildings of some professional colleges will be utilized for exam centers.
