NBEMS has revealed plans for the Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (FMGE) 2024, expected to occur in January. The exam is planned to be held online in a Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across various test centers nationwide.

New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released that the Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (FMGE) for 2024 is anticipated to take place in January of that year 2024. Aspiring candidates planning to appear for the FMGE 2024 exam can access the official notification via the website @natboard.edu.in.
The FMGE 2024 is scheduled to be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) mode at diverse test centers nationwide. However, the exact date and time for FMGE 2024 exam are yet to be announced by the NBEMS board.
According to the official NBEMS website, aspiring candidates intending to participate in the upcoming Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) are hereby notified that the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) plans to tentatively conduct the next FMGE in January 2024. The examination is scheduled to take place on a Computer Based Platform at numerous FMGE test centers nationwide.
The NBEMS notice further urges the applicants to regularly check the NBEMS website for the final examination schedule, as the aforementioned schedule is purely provisional.
Additionally, the notice has recommended the applicants to routinely check the NBEMS website for the final examination schedule, considering the above schedule remains tentative.
The FMGE 2024 examination will consist of a total of 300 multiple-choice questions, segregated into two sections. Candidates will have an allocation of 150 minutes for each section. For the December session, the FMGE 2023 exam is anticipated to be conducted in 40 test cities nationwide.
An aspiring candidate should possess a foreign-based primary medical qualification to practice medicine in India. In addition, the candidate is required to be either a citizen of India or an overseas citizen of India to be eligible to participate in the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination.
The FMGE exam serves as a screening test for medical graduates seeking eligibility to practice medicine within the country. Conducted twice by the National Board of Examinations, this examination is intended for both Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) aiming to acquire the registration certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council (SMC).
