NIT Goa PhD Admission 2025

NIT Goa has started Phase II admissions for PhD programs under the Visvesvaraya Scheme for Electronics & IT for the academic year 2024-25. The application process is now open, and interested candidates can apply before February 28, 2025.

NIT Goa PhD Admission 2025: Eligibility Criteria

  • Master's Degree (M.E./M.Tech.) in CSE, ECE, EEE or relevant disciplines with at least 6.5 CGPA (or 60%).
  • For SC/ST candidates, a minimum 6.0 CGPA (or 55%).
  • Exceptional candidates (CGPA ≥ 9.0) with a B.Tech./B.E. can also apply.
  • Candidates must have GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/DST-INSPIRE or equivalent national-level test qualification.
  • Higher shortlisting criteria may be applied depending on the number of applicants.

NIT Goa PhD Admission 2025: Fellowship Details

Fellowship INR 38,750 per month (1st & 2nd year), INR 43,750 per month (3rd, 4th & 5th year)
Reimbursement of Rent As per funding agency norms
Research Contingency Grant INR 1,20,000 per year

Note: The fellowship funds will be directly deposited into the verified accounts of PhD students by the Ministry.

NIT Goa PhD Admission 2025: Documents Required

Candidates must submit the following self-attested documents at the time of the PhD interview:

  • Filled biodata in the prescribed format.
  • Photocopies of mark sheets (secondary, higher secondary, and university level).
  • GATE/NET scorecard (if applicable).
  • Proof of date of birth.
  • Community certificate (SC/ST/OBC), if applicable.
  • NOC for part-time applicants from their employer.

Applications will be screened monthly, and shortlisted candidates will be informed via email. The first round of interviews will be conducted offline, while subsequent rounds may be held online.
