The students of SGGSIE&T are collectively making a few mistakes that could impact their overall experience. For instance, in the Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering course, many students seem to be relying too heavily on the faculty for their understanding of the subjects. While the faculty is well-qualified, some students have mentioned that a few teachers are not effective in their teaching methods. This could lead to a lack of clarity and understanding for the students. They need to take more initiative in seeking help or clarifying doubts instead of depending solely on the professors.

Another issue observed is the lack of practical application in the curriculum for the Computer Science and Engineering course. While the syllabus includes important topics, students feel that there is an overemphasis on theory, which doesn't prepare them adequately for real-world scenarios. Students should push for more hands-on projects and internships to better align their academic experience with industry demands.

Lastly, in Mechanical Engineering, some students expressed that they feel overwhelmed by the increasing fees and financial burdens, especially when they see their peers in other branches getting better placements. They should consider exploring scholarship options more actively or seeking part-time opportunities to alleviate some of this pressure. It's essential for them to be proactive about their financial planning and career opportunities.

A lot of students who live nearby aren't really taking part in the activities happening at our college.

One big mistake that a lot of us at SGGSIE T are making is being obsessed with getting into TCS. For about 90% of SGGS students, TCS is the ultimate dream company. But why is that a problem? Well, students from 8 different departments can apply to TCS. It's understandable if CSE and IT students want to work there, but what about those in Civil, Instrumentation, Electronics, Textile, Mechanical, and Production? After spending 4 years studying in these fields, why chase an IT job? Plus, TCS isn't even a hardcore IT company where CSE and IT students can apply their core knowledge; it's more of a consultancy firm.

It's alright to consider such companies as a backup, but it's a shame to let our skills go to waste for a mediocre salary just because of placements. And what's the salary like? About 25k per month, which isn't much in cities like Bangalore, Vizag, or Mumbai. I believe SGGS students have the potential to secure jobs in product-based companies instead of spending two valuable years in service-oriented jobs. Many of us end up quitting these jobs after two years anyway because we get frustrated with the lack of skill development.

I understand if some might disagree or judge me for this opinion. I'm not hiding my identity because this is just an honest thought. Thanks for taking the time to read this! Cheers and peace.
