Pros

An honest take on Vidyalankar Institute of Technology from someone who prefers to stay anonymous:
In short, steer clear of this place. It's mainly for those who think good grades are a direct ticket to becoming a CEO or something like that.
Want more details? Sure. The institute is packed with arrogant professors who only have their basic degrees yet act like they're experts with tons of patents and publications. Many of them studied here and ended up working here because they couldn't make it elsewhere.
They act as if they own the students, despite us paying the fees. They're overly strict about attendance, journal submission dates, and even nitpick on journal size, font style, and assignments. If they don't like what you submit, they'll make you redo it. So, you end up spending more time and money on top of the fees you've already paid.
Some professors even boast in class that they don't care if the syllabus is completed on time. They're more focused on attendance and whether students have memorized their notes. Because of this, many important subjects are left unfinished.
Extracurriculars are practically non-existent. It's almost like they should put up a sign saying "Attend lectures or leave the college." The director seems more concerned about hiring more staff than improving learning or activities, and is quick to assume a student is being argumentative when they're just answering a question.
And since April 2018, they've introduced this mentor form system, where you have to chase down your mentor (who might not even know they're your mentor). This form includes your attendance for all lectures, and this seems to really inflate the professors' egos.
If you talk to students from VIT, you'll hear complaints about almost all departments except for computers. The computer department is filled with top students who often end up becoming college or coaching professors themselves.
If you want to be in a place that encourages fear and submission, then VIT might just be for you. I studied there myself.
VIT is quite a mixed experience, with its share of highs and lows, much like any other college.

That's about it for the downsides for now. I'll update if I think of more. A2A'ed
Vidyalankar Institute of Technology has been a pretty decent experience for me as a student of Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology. The faculty is quite supportive and well-qualified, mostly with PhDs, which is great. The exams are held every week, making it easier to keep up with the subjects. I feel like the curriculum is focused on practical work, which is beneficial for understanding real-world applications.
The fees for my course are around 1,36,768, but I managed to get a scholarship, so that helps a lot. Overall, I would say it's a good place for anyone looking to pursue IT.
I am currently studying BE in Electronics and Telecom Engineering at Vidyalankar Institute of Technology. The curriculum is designed well, focusing more on practical applications, which I appreciate. The fee for my course is about 134,000, and I am an OBC student, so I benefit from a reduced fee.
The placement opportunities could be better, as many students are not getting placed, and some prefer to prepare for exams like GATE instead. However, the campus has a good atmosphere, with various clubs and activities that keep things lively. Overall, it's a decent choice for engineering students, especially if you're interested in ECE.
