Both DTU and NIT Delhi have solid offerings, but when it comes to placements and internships, DTU seems to have an edge, especially in the biotechnology field. DTU boasts impressive placement stats with 350+ companies visiting and an average package of 10-15 LPA, while NIT Delhi's data is less detailed, making it harder to compare directly. Furthermore, DTU offers internships with stipends ranging from 10,000 to 2 lakh per month, which is quite attractive. If you're leaning towards biotechnology and want a supportive environment with good placement opportunities, DTU is a great choice. However, if you're passionate about cutting-edge fields like AI and data science, and don't mind the uncertainty in placements, NIT Delhi could also be a worthwhile option.

on getting a seat in DTU. Biotech is a good branch but not very popular; only 20-30% of companies allow Biotech students to appear for coding rounds. However, if you have a passion for coding, you can still secure a good job. Recently, a Biotech graduate received a package of 24 LPA. With the increase in the number of seats in DTU, especially in computer-related branches, the competition is tougher, but if you can, you might consider it.

This is an excellent question. Since the Indian engineering curriculum is quite outdated, many engineering colleges struggle to produce skilled and employable professionals in specialized fields like Biotechnology. This has resulted in a lack of core private Biotech companies in India. Research-based engineering branches may not be effectively taught in Indian engineering colleges. DTU is a Tier-1 government engineering college, and such institutions typically provide students with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills through various facilities. In contrast, B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at NIT Delhi is likely to offer better prospects, given the current demand for data science professionals in the job market.

Assuming you are talking about tech placement, BioTech is not a good option for securing a strong placement. First preference is given to COE/IT/MCE students, then to core branches, and finally to biotech branches. So, if you are looking for tech placement, biotech is generally not recommended. There will be exceptions, as some individuals with very good coding skills might be able to secure a good placement, but in general, biotech is not the best choice.

Honestly, if I had to choose between B.Tech Biotechnology in DTU and B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in NIT Delhi, I'd lean towards NIT Delhi. While DTU has friendly faculty and decent internship opportunities with good placements, NIT Delhi's focus on AI and Data Science positions you better for the future job market. The curriculum at NIT is likely more aligned with the tech industry's needs, especially with the growing demand for data-driven roles. Both colleges have good campus life, but NIT Delhi's reputation and industry connections could offer better prospects post-graduation. So, if you're into cutting-edge technology and want to maximize your career options, I'd say go for NIT Delhi.
