Should I go for B.Tech Computer Science Engineering in MNNIT Allahabad or B.Tech Civil Engineering in MANIT Bhopal?

I am confident that NIT Allahabad's IT program is far superior to NIT Bhopal's CSE. Here are the reasons:

• Environment: The atmosphere at NIT Allahabad is highly competitive. It has the largest batch size for CS and IT among all NITs, which makes the competition intense.
• Support from Seniors: Seniors are very supportive. They conduct extra classes for juniors to help them explore more and enhance their skills.
• Placement Factor: NIT Allahabad ranks 4th among all NITs, primarily due to its excellent placement record. The quality of education here leads to great placement opportunities.

Overall, the level of study is high, and that translates to impressive placements!

MNNIT Allahabad's B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering offers significantly better job prospects compared to MANIT Bhopal's B.Tech in Civil Engineering. With an average CTC of 15 LPA and top packages reaching 75 LPA, MNNIT stands out, especially with a strong placement team ensuring high conversion rates and connections with major tech companies like Oracle and Amazon. Internships at MNNIT also boast high stipends, averaging around 45,000 per month, which is crucial for gaining industry experience.

In contrast, while MANIT provides a solid education in civil engineering, its placement statistics and internship opportunities may not match the lucrative tech landscape at MNNIT. If you're aiming for the best career outcomes, go for MNNIT Allahabad; if you're passionate about civil engineering and willing to navigate a more traditional job market, consider MANIT Bhopal.

I believe that pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering at MNNIT Allahabad offers a better return on investment compared to B.Tech in Civil Engineering at MANIT Bhopal. MNNIT has a higher average CTC of about 15 LPA, with strong placements in top companies like Oracle and Amazon, while MANIT's data is less compelling. The tuition fees at MNNIT are approximately Rs 93,500 per semester, which is similar to MANIT, but the potential for higher stipends and overall salary makes MNNIT a smarter financial choice. If you’re inclined towards tech and want better financial prospects, MNNIT is the way to go; however, if you have a passion for civil engineering, MANIT still provides a solid education albeit with potentially lower financial returns.

I faced the same dilemma two years ago. I was torn between the two options while filling out choices during the counselling process and ultimately chose IT at MNNIT, Allahabad.

• Placement Opportunities: MNNIT outshines MANIT in terms of placements and has a better senior-junior decorum, especially regarding ragging.
• Hostel Conditions: While MANIT's hostel conditions were poor two years ago, a new hostel has been constructed since then.
• Cultural and Technical Events: Both MANIT and MNNIT host a variety of cultural, management, and technical fests and events.
• Academic Edge: IT at MNNIT has a slight edge over CSE at MANIT, or at least they are equivalent.

Considering the current situation and historical records, MNNIT is the better choice. The key factors are placements (which reflect better academics), college reputation (it matters), and a more welcoming environment with zero ragging. There have been reports of ragging at MANIT from students studying there.

When it comes to rankings, MNNIT leads the pack. There are slight differences in engineering courses, especially in CSE. Here are the main factors students typically consider when choosing a college:

• Location
  Jaipur is the best! For city lifestyle, Jaipur surpasses both Bhopal and Allahabad. If you want to experience a more advanced city for the next four years, even if it means compromising a bit on college ranking, go for MNIT Jaipur.
• Placement
  CSE at MNNIT Allahabad boasts the oldest computer science department in an engineering college in India, which means a plethora of on-campus companies. From Facebook and Microsoft to various startups, you won’t face a shortage of job opportunities in CSE. The average package is between 10-11 LPA, which is higher than other colleges.
• Social Life
  Trust me, there’s no difference between Indian and NRI students when it comes to social life in any college. Friendships aren’t formed based on origins; there’s no differentiation. So don’t feel insecure about the NRI aspect in any of the three colleges mentioned.

Everything else is pretty much the same. Personally, I would choose MNNIT Allahabad because I spent four years there, and it was fantastic!
