I had a rank of 3779 in JEE Mains 2016 and was also torn between these two options. After doing some research online, I found out some key points:

• MNNIT is ranked as the No.1 NIT in North India.
• I checked both institutes' official websites for placement details. The average package for IT/CSE at MNNIT differed by just 1 lakh compared to MNIT. However, MNIT's CSE package didn't impress me as it was significantly lower than MNNIT's 12 lakh package.
• IT and CSE are essentially the same at MNNIT Allahabad. The placements and curriculum are identical until the second year, with only one or two subjects differing afterward.
• The coding culture at MNNIT is outstanding. We are ranked second in SPOJ College rankings, and our coders excel on platforms like CodeChef, HackerEarth, and HackerRank.

Ultimately, I made the decision that felt right for me and chose MNNIT IT. If you ask me if I regret that choice, the answer is a resounding no. I'm very happy with my decision to go with MNNIT IT.
