I think you should definitely choose Software Engineering at DTU! Being in the capital of the country gives you immense exposure that other colleges just can't match. Here are some reasons why DTU stands out:

  • Opportunities: You have maximum chances to learn from the vibrant society around you.
  • Internships: There are numerous software development companies and startups in Delhi, making it easier to secure internships.
  • Learning: You can explore various aspects of software engineering and technology.
  • Competitions: Delhi offers ample opportunities to prepare for competitions.
  • Overall Development: DTU is a complete package that fosters both technical and non-technical growth.

In short, DTU provides an environment that promotes holistic development!

MNNIT CSE is the way to go!

MNNIT's Computer Science program is among the best in North India. Here are some reasons why:

  • Almost every major software company like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft comes for recruitment.
  • Computer Club Classes are organized on weekends by seniors to prepare juniors for competition.
  • There’s a strong Alumni Network worldwide in the software field.
  • A vibrant Coding Culture has developed over the years among the students.

Sure, Delhi is a better location than Allahabad, but honestly, you’ll spend most of your time in hostels where no one cares about the city. If you’re passionate about programming, consider Allahabad.

Both DTU and MNNIT have solid reputations, and either choice can lead to a comfortable position after four years. However, Software Engineering is a relatively new course at DTU, which is why I lean towards MNNIT CSE.

In Computer Science, your success largely depends on your own efforts, interactions with seniors, and importantly, the Coding Culture of your college. Both MNNIT and DTU have great Coding Cultures. So don’t stress! If you love coding, you’ll thrive!

DTU SE over MNNIT CSE

Points in favor of DTU:

  • Better alumni network
  • Better placements
  • A bit more relaxed atmosphere
  • Recently updated curriculum

Points in favor of MNNIT:

  • Stronger NIT tag
  • More affordable
  • Hostel accommodation available

It's been mentioned that MNNIT has more funding than DTU. That was accurate when the comment was made. However, as of 2018, DTU has surpassed it. (source: NIRF)

Honestly, both DTU and MNNIT Allahabad have their strengths, but when it comes to fees and ROI, DTU seems like the smarter financial choice. The fees at DTU are regular and less prone to hikes compared to MNNIT, which starts at around 2.19 lakhs and increases yearly. Plus, DTU offers a wider range of scholarships, making it accessible for needy students, while MNNIT’s funding opportunities are less clear.

In terms of internships and placements, DTU has companies coming in early on, giving students a great head start. If you're looking for a vibrant campus life and strong industry connections, go for DTU. However, if you prefer a more traditional setup and a solid reputation in engineering, MNNIT could work for you. Just weigh your priorities!

Both DTU and MNNIT Allahabad have their strengths, but I lean towards DTU for its vibrant campus life and extensive networking opportunities. The curriculum is up-to-date with the NEP, and internships start from the first year, giving you a head start. MNNIT has a solid Computer Science program, but the placement process seems more competitive, relying heavily on individual skills and CGPA. While both colleges offer good faculty and exposure, DTU's active engagement in fests and the overall college atmosphere might give you a more enriching experience. So, if you're looking for a lively campus with more internship options, go for DTU; if you prefer a strong tech foundation and are ready to work hard for placements, MNNIT could be the choice.
