DTU B.Tech in Computer Engineering offers a strong ROI with an average package of 15 LPA and a placement rate of 98%, which is impressive given the slightly higher fee structure of around 2.3 lakhs per year. In contrast, MNIT Jaipur’s B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering has a similar fee but may not have as robust placement statistics readily available. While both colleges provide good campus life and opportunities, DTU seems to provide a smarter financial choice due to its superior placement rates and higher packages. If you're looking for immediate returns and opportunities in tech, go for DTU; if you're passionate about AI and data, MNIT can still be a good option, but with a more cautious outlook on placement prospects.

While I would consider many more factors in making a decision, here are two basic ones for your consideration:

  • At the Institute Level: According to the MHRD National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF), DTU is ranked 34, which is better than MNIT at rank 53. It's worth noting that the Research and Professional Practice (RPC) score for MNIT is higher than that of DTU.
  • Placements from the last year (2017-18) for the CS Department: Make sure to weigh these factors carefully to make the right choice!

Honestly, if I had to pick between DTU B.Tech Computer Engineering and MNIT Jaipur B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, I'd lean towards DTU. The campus life at DTU seems vibrant with events like Engifest and Invictus, plus the faculty, while average, is still better than what I’ve heard about MNIT. The placement stats at DTU are impressive, with big companies offering decent packages, which is crucial for future prospects. MNIT's focus on AI and Data Engineering is attractive, but if you're looking for a well-rounded experience and solid job opportunities, DTU has the edge. If you want a lively campus and strong placements, go for DTU; if you're really passionate about AI and want a specialized path, then MNIT might suit you.

If you're torn between the two colleges, I recommend opting for DTU CSE through JAC Delhi instead of MNIT CSE.

DTU is a renowned and established institution, much like MNIT Jaipur, albeit without the NIT tag. Here are some reasons to consider DTU:

  • Infrastructure: It boasts well-developed facilities, libraries, a Student Activity Centre (SAC), sports amenities, and more.
  • Location: Being in Delhi is a huge advantage. It attracts top tech companies that frequently visit the campus to recruit students with impressive CTC packages.
  • Placement Records: DTU is often compared to the 2nd Gen IITs due to its similar placement statistics.
  • Exposure: The exposure you get at DTU is exceptional, and the college culture is vibrant and engaging.

You won't regret choosing DTU CSE over MNIT Jaipur CSE!

I can't speak much about DTU, but here are my thoughts on MNIT.

  • Curriculum: The courses are decent.
  • Faculty: The faculty is lacking, with only a few exceptions (some have left). There’s a noticeable absence of faculty members who are passionate about trending topics like Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, etc. If you're interested in these areas, you might find it disappointing.
  • Coding Culture: There is NO coding culture at the institute. You’ll be on your own. There are no intra-institute coding contests or programming clubs. Participation in national or international coding contests is minimal, likely due to limited interaction with seniors (there’s less or no senior-junior interaction).

That said, you will definitely emerge as a competent computer engineer.

In the end, you will find good job opportunities at both institutions!
