IIT Bombay's B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering offers a significant edge in placements and internship opportunities compared to IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Civil Engineering. IIT Bombay attracts top tech firms like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft, with students often receiving higher packages, including offers that can exceed 2.65 crore. On the other hand, while IIT Delhi's civil engineering program has its strengths, the placement scenarios are generally less lucrative, especially in tech-driven roles. If you're leaning towards a tech career with better job prospects and packages, IIT Bombay is the clear choice; however, if your passion lies in civil engineering and you're less concerned about tech salaries, IIT Delhi is a solid option.

IIT Bombay is the better choice! Even though I'm not in CS, here are a few points to consider:

  • You’ll have the opportunity to learn from some of the best professors in India.
  • The professors are really cool! One even tried to prank the entire class on April 1st—classic!
  • Great placements! You can land good jobs at both IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay. Even with a 6-pointer, you could secure a job with a CTC higher than what the top Mechanical Engineering student might get!
  • (This point isn’t about CS) The culture at IIT Bombay is fantastic. You’re guaranteed to have a great time compared to any other IIT.
  • You can receive excellent recommendations from professors if you’re considering pursuing a Master’s or PhD.

I can’t provide more academic insights, but honestly, the combination of IIT Bombay and CS is unbeatable! Go for it!

I would suggest IIT Bombay! Here’s why:

  • Highly trained faculty.
  • IITB's computer science department updates its course offerings every semester based on the latest advancements in the field.
  • Computer Science is the most dynamic branch across all IITs.

Overall, IIT Bombay stands out for its flexibility and innovation in the Computer Science program!

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Civil Engineering offers a solid education with a fee structure of around 4-5 lakh for students with reservation benefits, while IIT Bombay's B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, though likely more expensive, promises higher placement packages, with tech giants frequently hiring from there. If you’re focused on ROI and securing a lucrative job, IIT Bombay might be the smarter financial choice due to its higher placement offers, which can significantly outweigh the initial cost.

However, if you have a genuine passion for Civil Engineering and want to pursue that field, IIT Delhi provides great value with lower fees and a supportive campus environment. Ultimately, if you aim for a tech-centric career, go for IIT Bombay; if you’re committed to Civil Engineering, IIT Delhi is still a great option.
