NIT Surathkal’s B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering tends to attract more tech firms, ensuring better job prospects in the tech sector. In terms of fees, MNNIT charges around Rs. 95,000 per semester, while NIT Surathkal is slightly more expensive but provides a robust ROI due to higher placement rates in electronics. If you’re leaning towards a career in tech, NIT Surathkal is the smarter financial choice, but if civil engineering is your passion, MNNIT offers good value too, especially for those seeking a balanced college experience.

For Private Jobs: Choose Civil at NIT Surathkal. This is coming from an MNNITian who knows the ins and outs of my college. Students from NIT Surathkal have landed roles in software multinationals and investment banks with lucrative packages.

If you're aiming for the Government Sector: Opt for Civil at MNNIT Allahabad. You won't find such excellent faculty and competitive environment anywhere else. Civil students from MNNIT have secured 1, 2, 4, 6, and 9 ranks in GATE when I entered the college. Can you believe it? Five MNNITians in the top 10! Most Mechanical and Civil aspirants here easily crack GATE or ESE due to the dedication and resources available at MNNIT.

Let me tell you that NIT Allahabad has one of the best placement scenarios among NITs.

• In 2020, the average placement for the CSE branch was 18 LPA, and for the IT branch, it was 17 LPA.
• Even in the Electrical Engineering branch, the highest package reached 49 LPA, while in ECE, it was 39 LPA.

This clearly showcases the strong coding culture at NIT Allahabad. That's why, despite its average infrastructure, NIT Allahabad remains a dream college for many aspirants from North India!

I'm currently studying at NITK, so I can share insights about the placement scenario here at NITK Surathkal. I can't speak for MNNIT Allahabad since I haven't been there.

Here's a summary of the placements from the last academic year:

• CSE: Average salary around Rs. 13 lakh
• IT: Average salary close to Rs. 10 lakh

This data does not include off-campus offers that students have received, and a small percentage also pursue further studies abroad. Overall, the placement situation is quite decent!
