Remarks

Whatever I am or have achieved is because of my alma mater. I came with little knowledge but now is equipped with lots of info in my arsenal.

Entrance Preview

I took the IIT JEE examination and secured 179 marks. I heard from my seniors that this college provides lots of opportunities to explore different domains and emphasis a great focus on entrepreneurship.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

It's pretty hard in beginning to adjust but once you did nobody can lower your self-confidence level. Electives I took was a major key in a comp science field. The professors were pretty decent, they help me understand all the concepts.

Internships Opportunities

I interned in big IT firms in my second and third years. The stipend offered to me was in the range of 25,000 to 50,000. Also, there is a separate wing called placement cell which takes care of getting you a potential employer.

Placement Experience

5

Placement cell does its best job every year to get most students placed. At the time of placements, your stream does not matter, if you have sufficient experience in your interested job through internships and projects, you can get placed in any industry. Job opportunities are A LOT. You don't have to worry about placements even if you are an average student according to IIT standards.

College Events

5

I think IIT Bombay and MOOD I go side by side. This is an all-around college, famous for its technicality and cultural events. Apart from MOOD I, there is tech-fest, cell, and lots of small clubs. They all are formed to develop your leadership skills. MOOD I is celebrated on a very large scale, people from all over the world come to perform and participation is humongous.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Comparing to elite private colleges like BITS, I think the fee is a bit on the lower side. If you belong to a low-income family there are lots of scholarships that take care of your fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many. I don't remember their names but there are. You can go to the academic section in the main building on campus and they will assist find the right loan/scholarship according to your need.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio is pretty bad. There are 16 hostels on campus and out of that only two are girls hostels. Hostel parties are insane. I will not spoil it for you, you just have to experience that. Lots of students on the campus are from south India so there are different groups like glutes, Gujjars and mallus, etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are pretty decent especially if you are in new hostels. There is a gym, basket court, baddy court, pool table, foos ball, and comp room to keep your fitness level at par.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni are humble and they are always ready to help their junior whether it be for placements or any area in your life. I have personally contacted many seniors of mine and my experience of conversing with them was very constructive.

Exam Structure

When it's exam time you cant expect it to be a chilled-out interval. The atmosphere is pretty intense during midsems and endsems. Sometimes you have 2 exams a day. Also, questions are not that easy which you can solve on the spot just by mere understanding. You

Faculty

5

The faculty is quite knowledgeable. They are masters in their field so whatever doubts you have in whatever subject or even in your personal life they will do their best to help you solve them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
