Remarks
Positive Remark- Though the college is located in a remote area, it is gradually developing the whole Silchar city. The college is helping in Digital marketing by using apps like Google Pay, Phone Pe and Paytm.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is well designed. The Head of Department of Computer Science and Engineering here is totally in support with the students. Regarding JEE Main, it's an international exam where 10 Lacs students sit every year and the success ratio is 1:100.
Placement Experience
There is a training and placement cell here at NIT Silchar. It works both on the base of unity of students and teachers. For the last 3 years, the placement of Computer Science and Engineering department is 100%.
College Events
We have two college fests. First, the Technical fest, which goes by the name Tecnoesis and second, the cultural fest, Incandescence. Besides, there are many more events happening throughout the year like Spic Macay, Rexian Alumni Meet, School Genius and many more.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is based on the student's caste and the parents' income. For income more than 5 lacs, the fees goes about 70k per semester, between 1 and 5 lacs, it's about 40k per semester. And for below 1 lac as the annual income, the fees is 25k.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are frequent here. The scholarships are mainly for the students belonging to ST and SC category. Most of the scholarships goes to the Freshers. There is no scope for scholarship for OBC and General category students and the students who had dropped a year for preparing for the Entrance Exam.
Campus Life
Labs are good. Not all the machines work, but they are good. Sports, here are one of the major factor for the good ranking of the college. Sports here includes Cricket, Football, Table Tennis, Badminton, Futsal, Kabaddi, Chess, Carrom, Basketball and many others.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, I have opted for Hostel. The hostel facilities are good here except for the mess food. The mess food here is too bad. By consuming it, health can get deteriorated. Many students, thereby consume food outside the campus.
Alumni/Alumna
Every year an Alumni Meet is done for the students who got passed out 25 years ago. This year's Alumni Meet- Rexian is going to be held at 9 and 10 th November, 2019. Rexian helps in expanding the Alumni Network. Many alumni have always come to help whenever NIT Silchar has needed them.
Admission
I got admission in NITS through JEE Main. After that I reported physically to NIT Nagaland and then I reported at NIT, Silchar in July month of 2018. The admission fees is based on your caste as well as your parents Income.
Faculty
The faculty here is too good. Except some professors at NIT Silchar, all others are too helping in nature. They understand us. They always want to remain connected to students. All professors here have a PhD. degree.
