Everything is good in college except faculty members. There is no place for outing and fun outside the campus ie there is no good club or mall outside the campus. You may face language problems in this college
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum at NIT Silchar is awesome. they include various subjects for students. In first semester you have 5 subjects. Marking system - Midsem exam: 30 marks -1 hour. Endsem exam- 50 marks 2 hour. Rest 20 marks is based upon assignment, projects, lab reports, attendance etc.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities in this college is awesome. The computer Science and engineering department has 100% placement. You can find other placement stastics on website of this college.college provides a good internship opportunities in 3rd year and 4th year. You will love internship. The companies provides a good stipened but it depends upon the company and your branch. Stipen range is from 40k to 85k.
College Events
NIT Silchar conducts various events comes under technical fest and cultural fest and administration provides a huge amount of fund for these fests. 1. Incandescence:- this is a technical fest in which various projects are organised and students came to learn various subjects. Different workshops are organised. 2. Technoesis:- it is also a technical fest and almost same things are organised as they were in incandescence. 3. Poshua:- this is a cultural fest which is organised during bihu( cultural festival of assam) dance, music and various activities are organised. All events are awesome and students of other colleges, scientists, artists, entrepreneur are invited.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure depends upon your caste and your economic condition. SC ST students have to pay less money compared to general students. And in general category there are 3 divisions. 1:- annual income less than 1 lac. 2. Annual income less than 5lacand more than 1 lac. 3. Annual income more than 5 lac. Every year fee structure changes so you should visit college website for fee structure. But it is affordable for every section of society.
Fees and Financial Aid
College provides a good amount to unprivileged SC ST students whose family annual income is less than 6 lac. College scholarship amount is added into fee structure. Any other scholarship for general students and obc students are not in my knowledge.
Hostel Facilities
Every student have to live in hostel.and hostel infrastructure is different for different hostel. There are 9 hostels for boys in this college and 3 hostels for girls. Mess and canteens are present in every college and have a quite amount of seat so every student can seat here at one time and can eat. Bathroom are present in sufficient amount. You don't need to take tension for infrastructure as this college is college of national importance so obviously infrastructure is awesome.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are very helpful in this college. This college is ragging free and that is the best part of this college. Seniors are teachers here they will coach you in field of sports, they will teach you in field of study. They will help you in you laboratory and teach you various aspects of life. They will help you in placement so having a good relationship with seniors gonna help you.
Faculty
To be honest faculty members are not that good. You have to study here by youtube or seniors will teach you something. But it happens in every college. And seniors will help you. Some of the faculty members are good here but there number is small.
