Remarks
NIT Silchar is a descent and good college for pursuing BTech and fullfil dreams of becoming engineer. As it is situated in outskirts of a small city of assam that is silchar, where the weather is moderate throughout the year.
Course Curriculum Overview
My course curriculum at NIT SILCHAR was of four years. As I took admission in mechanical engineering branch, it's curriculum was somewhat tough than the other branch. In each year there was two semester exam and in each semester there was two exam one of 30 marks and other of 50 marks and 20 marks for practical exam.
Placement Experience
Placement was average in mechanical engineering branch. In other branch like computer science and electronic and communication placement was good. Yes our college provide internship and stipend depend on the project and the professor under which you are going to do internship.
College Events
There are si many events celebrated in my college including cultural and technical. The main two big even celebrated in my college was tecnoesis which was technical event of my college and incandenscence which was bigest cultural event of my college which last in 4 days.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As NIT SILCHAR is a fully government college so fee structure is feasible by comparing from other college which provides same course. Fee structure of one year is around 1.5 lakh including the mess fee and academic fee.
Fees and Financial Aid
As there was a branch of state bank of india in my college which is linked by college so they provide the loan for the whole course. If anybody who is financially weak, they can get loan there by applying. And scholarship depend on the merit of students and the where he belong from because many state also provide scholarship for this course as I get from bihar government.
Campus Life
There are number of extracurricular activities and sports were present in my college. Every week there is some event or activities happening there so if anyone interested they can enjoy this. Regarding sport facilities NIT SILCHAR have big sports complex with indore game in the basement and gym on the first floor.
Hostel Facilities
I had opted for Hostel as they provide hostel within the campus with minimal price and it's also easy for us to attend class from hostel. There was a bus facilities from each hostel for attending the class.
Alumni/Alumna
NIT SILCHAR have I alumni cell which is very active and we as alumni feel always connected with college. They also invite alumni each year on the eve of alumni meet which is a cultural night and senior share there experience to junior it's a great experience learning from alumni.
Admission
I had given the entrance exam called as IIT JE MAINS in 2014. And I cleared the exam with descent rank so that I can get addmission in the top government college. After the result deceleration there was a counseling process which end in three days. In the counciling process I had choose the different college and branch which I want to join then after councelling they alot the college and branch according to my rank in jee mains.
Faculty
The faculty of my college was good specially of my branch. Even the director of my college was from mechanical engineering stream so in first year he used to take few workshop which is very motivating for us.
