Remarks
The administrative management staff is a bit arrogant and is mostly inefficient in their work. Although that is not a daily issue, it happens only at the start of the semester during registration and fee payment.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum has it's similarities with that of Pune University's, although these similarities are minor. The reshuffling of an order of chapters in the SIT curriculum is evident when compared to Pune University's curriculum. The syllabus is less in quantity as opposed to Pune University's curriculum but then the marking scheme is very strict here.
Placement Experience
Good for Computer Science and IT. It has recorded 90% of the placements in the academic year 2018-19. But the same can't be said about Mechanical, Civil and Electronics and Telecommunications. Placements happened for only 13 students out of possible 150 students from Mechanical branch in the academic year 2018-19 which constitutes all of 9% placements as opposed to 90% in CS and IT.
College Events
SIT has Reverb, an annual college event that helps people showcase their extracurricular skills like Dance, fashion modelling, singing, playing a musical instrument, etc. Pro athletes, an annual sports event consisting of many sports and where all Symbiosis affiliated colleges take part in this extravaganza. Happens usually in the month of February or March.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The First Year it's Rs. 2,60,000/- So, semester wise, it's 1,30,000/-. Institute deposit, which is refundable, is Rs.20,000/-, which is to be paid before the beginning of the first year only, one time only. Similarly for the second year, third year and fourth year. No hostel accommodation for the final year.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I haven't applied for any scholarship or education loan at that time however scholarships are given to the meritorious students by Symbiosis University.
Campus Life
Since the campus is situated in Lavale, it is been surrounded by lush green hills and terrains. In the monsoon season, the campus offers a picturesque view to relish and there is a lot of diversity in our college students from all religions and ethnicities actively participate in activities conducted at SIT.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are very good, neat and tidy and are comparatively newer and well maintained, so it doesn't feel like we are living in a public place, rather we feel like a home away from home itself. Fees for a hostel is approx Rs. 1,63,000 per year and usually we get hostel only for 2 years, for both girls and boys.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, they are very helpful and they will help you build a strong network if you approach them with a free mind.
Admission
I gave SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test) on 2nd May 2015. SET was moderate in difficulty level and was easier than JEE Main. I got 92 marks out of 200 in SET.
Faculty
Faculty is research-driven and knowledgeable although say, from 10 randomly picked faculty, three of them will be below average faculties and the rest of them will be good and knowledgeable enough.
