Life @ NIT AGARTALA

Everything has double faces. Anything can't be completed good or completely bad for someone. In the same way, inspite of different good and bad things, overall the college is really good. The way we are enjoying our life here is really awesome. Its simply the golden period of my life what i am passing here. And in future i gonna miss it badly, I am sure.

The course curicullum is very old type. I think from time to time it need to be revisednd changed accordingly because everything is changing then why not this is the case with curriculum. Theory classes are run and parallely practical clases are also provided to clarify the concepts. Overall a semester consists of approximately 6 months which comprises of one mid term and one end term exams. As far extra curriculum is considered, it has many opportunities like you can make your comforts in games, leadership, music, etc . For all this different clubs are there which are time to time funded by college to run efficiently.

Actually NIT AGARTALA , is a college of national importance monitered by government of india. But its situated in North east reason. But its placement scenario is increasing day by day exponentially. Within my 4 years of journey in NIT AGARTALA from 2016, I am seeing each year increase in placement scenario. Branches like CSE , ECE, ME, EE have good placements, while CE has some lacks in placement. This year in 2019 all students from CSE and ECEhave been placed within 3 months only, while others have also good scenario of placements. Companies like Samsung are recruiting 28 students from here is not a joke, it shows the quality of decent students here.

Generally each and every day some events are organized by clubs as there are many clubs inside, but these events are at smaller levels. But the main or. Events are larger scale is once organized in a year, i.e; cultural and technical fest. The technical fest is named as AAYAM , while the cultural fest is named as ADVAITAM. In technical fest, all the clubs associated with technical stuffs like Robotics club, programming ckubs ,etc organizes different events . It lasts for 2 to 3 days. Similarly the cultural fest is mainly Handled by music clubs , aaveg drama club , etc. Many events like stage programs , drama, nukkad natak , etc are organised and at the last day any famous Bollywood singer or celebrity is called to perform. So everyone waits for it till yet it don't comes.

Actually it depends fully on the income criteria of th students. Before 201y, it was the case that every student has to pay the same amount of fees, but from 2016 government changes the rule and made it fully on the basis of income criteria of the students. If a student's income is below 1 lacs, he has not to pay any amount of acdemic fee. If the income is between 1 lacs to 5 lacs , he has to pay 2/3rd of the academic fee. Otherwise if the income is above 5 lacs, one has to pay the complete fee. The complete fee per semester is different for different courses. Mine is B.tech so it has fee of 80k per semester approximately .

College is quite active for scholarship options for students. Even college has scholarship section that cares of all the scholarship related events. Scholarships are mainly caste and income based. All students whose income is below 1 lacs have been provided with fees relaxation scholarship without considering their casts. Also , SC, ST students are getting extra scholarships from govt for other purposes. The biggest amount of scholarship is provided by Samsung i.e; of 2 lacs per year.

Extracurricular activities are not compulsory for everyone. If one is interested, one can go and take part in it . There are different clubs that handles all these stuffs. Aaweg club handles drama and different stage performances. One main unit is NSS which handles all the sports related things. Year wise students participating in different sports events like inter NIT , inter year games.

Actually, here the scenario is that, hostel is compulsory. So there no any question arises that hostel or not. Everyone has to reside in hostel rooms only. Hostel rent is meagre. It costs only 2500 per semester and the condition of hostel infrastructure is quite good, but maintenance should be regularly otherwise real taste of staying would be missed.

I am feeling very sad to answer this question. The real fact is that the alumni connection is very poor . I have also went to different other NIT's like NIT silchar, surathkal, etc. In theirs comparison our alumni network is more weaker. It is called that alumnis are the strength of an organization and that what we lack actually. College should work in this field to increase this network to strengthen the backbone of the organization.

For admission in this NIT , you have to clear an entrance test named jee mains. Based on different categories cutoffs, you will be allocated with different branches like CSE , ECE , ME , CE , etc. In ours time in 2016, the exam was consisting od 360 marks and mine was 162 marks and 92 % was in 12th , so overall my rank based on this two was 31248 and I got EE finally here . For category students with that much marks will even get better opportunity or branches.

Everyone can't be good for all the people present in the world. Some might be good for someone's , some might not. As per my opinion, most of them are awesome, some have good knowledge but the way they are expressing their views are sometimes not clear to students. But, many of them are good, they are trying for different approaches of teaching to get an unique mark of appraisal from students. Also from time to time, college admission take reviews from students for each faculty in which one is free to give responses like whta he/she actually feels.
