Remarks
I love my college and I feel that I could not have found a college better than this. I feel that whatever I do in my future will be direct impact of the 4 years I spend here. I don't think I have any negative remark about such a great place.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is great. Some courses sometimes seem pointless but overall the courses are diverse and exhaustive. Exams happen twice a semester and they are majorly based on the theoretical knowledge we get from the courses.
Placement Experience
The placement and internship opportunities are great here. People get quite nice CTCs and people here are happy with the placements of IITR. Our college provides internships and projects under professors here. I personally have not done any but my friends did.
College Events
In our college we have three fests : Cultural fest called Thomso Technical fest called Cognizance Sports fest called Sangram All three are great and students enjoy them a lot and lot of people from other colleges also join us in our fun
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees of one semester is around 1,30,000 rupees including the hostel charges. It feels a little expensive but after 4 or 5 years you spend here you feel that it was worth it as the college life you get from IITR is the best I can imagine
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college provides scholarship of 25000 rupees per month to all the students who got rank less than 275 in Jee advanced and have maintained CGPA atleast 8.5. Fee waiver of 2/3 of tuition fee is given to students with family income less than 5LPA
Campus Life
College provide a lot of extracurricular activities. Some are Dancing group Dramatics Coding societies Music section Singing Magazine groups Painting and Art Robotics labs Almost all sports facilities Any student is free to pursue any or all of the above
Hostel Facilities
Hostel are fine. Some people say my hostel rooms are too small but I feel the size more than what one needs. The corridors are regularly cleaned and there are services like laundry room and canteen open 24×7.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is great. We recently had our alumni meet where alumni are invited to campus. Our alumni even contact us students to provide us with internships and freelancing projects. The seniors in IITR are the best. They are super friendly and helpful. We can always rely on our seniors for any difficulty.
Admission
I got my admission in IIT Roorkee after giving JEE Advanced exam. I prepared for around two years for this exam and managed to get an all India rank 442 in JEE Advanced. This rank landed me in IIT Roorkee.
Faculty
The faculty is highly knowledgeable but somewhat lacks in the teaching skills. They sometimes fail to explain the concepts. Otherwise the faculty tries to take all classes on time. Faculty here also offers us to do research projects under them which is great.
