NIT Calicut -Review

Positives:- 1) absolute academics date. No delay for examinations and results. 2)very good environment of campus. Negatives:- 1)hectic syllabus. More portions in lesser time 2)Management decision is final which sometimes make unfairness to student.

Each semester have 5-6 subjects. Each subject have two test, one with 30% weightage and one with 50% weightage. 20% weightage is for assignments. Each semester will be almost 4 months. Benefit of this college is that major strikes and holidays may not affect the academics.

Our college has its own placement training department where students get trained to attent internship and placements. We had a high lead of placement rate every academic year. International companies like Dell, LnT, WIPRO etc. are also providing placement offers to our college. Many companies offers different kind of internship with stipends provided and there is a chance for the interns to get placed in the same company.

1)Onam, which is a huge cultural moment for kerala, is celebrated every year. 2) Apart from Onam, diwali,pongal,holi, ganesh chathurthi, christmas,Eid,vishu and every other festivals are celebrated in kerala 3)every club events are done through out the year. 4)Every year ,two major events are done in college. Tathva,( technical fest )and Ragam(cultural fest). Both are very huge events including every students participation and students from other colleges also come to visit these fests. Ragam is the south India's no 1 cultural fest. Both fest have competitions, pro shows and DJs.

Fees for an entire semester is paid from the starting of semester itself. Around 1.5 lakhs rs should be paid for regular student who joins in 2020(only if fees didn't hike). Reserved students get relaxation in there hostel fees and college fees. Non residential Indians students have an equivalent exam called DASA ,which is also an eligibility criteria for getting admission.but they have to pay more fees,almost 5 times more.

Education Loans are available under various schemes for attending the course.Kerala govt. is providing egrandz for reserved and handicapped students. There are many other scholarships for financially backward students. NIT calicut has its own SBI branch where getting loan is much easier.

We have well equiped labs in every departments which helps in student's reserch and studies. Every year inter year football,basketball, volleyball,cricket,boxing etc are conducted. Students with talents get a great opertunities by this. Music,dance,drama clubs are there for finding good talented students. But the only problem is syllabus is hectic which questions the time available for extra carricular activities.

Hostels are amazing in this college. We are getting the best facilities under cheapest rate among other kerala hostels. There are varieties of mess where we can join any of them every month. Fees are very affordable in comparison with the service.

Yes,They are helpful when we are trying to find an off campus placement and this network helps us to have a mentoring from seniors. We get lots of leads in taking decision in our future career from their motivation. Some of the elder seniors who are in a well position had offered opertunities to the students.

First you have to write JEE main entrance exam. According to the cutoff mark and weightage you will get admission. Minimum mark of 130 is required for having a chance of getting admission. If you got above cutoff mark ,you can apply for admission in college and cross your finger to get a desired course.

They are choosing faculties by highly sorting out from the best. Faculties in NITC are well qualified and well experienced.each subject has its own specialized faculties,who have PhD specialisation in these subject.
