Remarks

Overall this is a pretty good college which provides exposure in almost every aspect and encourages students for approaching different activities according to their interest. The only con of this college is the food quality.Good food is very rare to find in the campus, this can be solved by preparing your own food or going outside campus.Except for this there is no con.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

My stream of study being Mechanical Engineering it's pretty tough you'll need to put in some effort. There are 3 exams per semester till second year, which consists of 2 online mcq based exam of 25 marks each and 1 endsem written exam exam. For 3rd and 4th year there are 2 exams per semester first being Insem exam of 30 marks and endsem exam for 70 marks.

Placement Experience

3

Placement and job opportunities are very good. A lot of mass recruiting companies visit for recruiting students from all streams. I personally got placed in a IT company Accenture. And yes there are internships provided by the college, but i wasn't part of any so i won't be able describe it.

College Events

4

Our campus is very well known for the cultural event called Sinhgad Karandak which is held every year in February. This event lasts for 3 days and has lot of mini events which are technical as well as non-technical. It also consists of EDM night on the last day.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure might be quite expensive for students who belong to OPEN category since it is approximately 1 lakh Rupees. For students who belong to OBC various scholarships are provided which halves the fees to be paid.

Fees and Financial Aid

I availed scholarship which was provided by the government for OBC category. OPEN category students unfortunately have to pay the complete fees which is around 1 lakh rupees. For OBC/SC/ST category there are scholarships provided by the government which reduces the fees by 50% and 80% for respective categories.

Campus Life

3

Extracurricular activities are also given significant importance here. There are Carting activities which goes hand in hand with syllabus for mechanical students. Many renowned teams such as E-Baja, Stallion Motorsports start recruiting students from second year itself. There is also exposure provided for the students interested in Cricket.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes,indeed they are very helpful for providing you last minute tips and tricks for cracking the interviews and entrance tests for the companies.During the placement period Alumni are always called for guiding the students which proves very helpful for boosting the confidence of students for the interview.

Admission

I got admission through Common Entrance Test. After acquiring results for cet exam check the merit list of the college of your choice where you can check the cutoff and know whether you'll be granted admission or not.If you satisfy the requirements go to the respective college for further procedure.

Faculty

2.5

Faculty of this college is very strict and they are actually good except for some teachers which won't be as good in terms of attendance and holding grudge against you. But teaching is to the point from the faculty. So if you attend regular lectures you won't be expecting any trouble.

During my placement my engineering percentage is around 70 and I am able to attend every drive. Once student get placement offer from one company that student is not allowed to apply next company which package is near to previous company. Placement in Kit college in my year is 70 to 75%. The unplaced students have decided to go for MS.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
