Review about my college

Transport system is not quite good. From Ruby hospital,this is a huge problem for every day to reach the college. The only transport is auto and the number of auto is very less and there is rickshaw but very expensive for a college student.

The course curriculum is as per MAKAUT rules. The syllabus was good enough in our time of study but in this yeae, MAKAUT has changed the syllabus and create a new syllabus which is a dangerous syllabus for students. Because after passing out the students doesn't get any idea about all the subjects of courses and they can not perform well in job field. But a huge step has been adopted mainly by our faculty members and the MAKAUT has comes to a decision that the syllabus will change again in this current year. There is total four internal assessment marks in a semester which have to give by our faculty. In which one is unit test exam and others are class test type or online exams. The semester is conducted in may and December alternately.

In this current year the fees for 1st semester (admission fees) regular students was RS.72000 approx. The semester fees is on and average RS.45000 per semester. Except this the exam fees is RS.1200. If you got the admission in TFW quota then you have to pay Rs.39500 as admission fees which includes 1st semester fess and nextly Rs.1250 for each semester.

Basically the college don't have any scholarship system itself. You will get the Government scholarships like OASIS and MCM etc. One can get the student loan for admission purpose in college. I have got the OASIS scholarship in every year.

We all know about the civil engineering department of MEGHNAD SAHA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY. This is the 3rd college of Kolkata where civil engineering course was started (after Jadavpur University and IIEST). As per a very old department there are a lots of instruments for lab work and a lot of respective & well qualified faculty passed out from IIT,JU,IIEST etc. There have central library where students can read many books from the stock of above 50,000 books and the library is also a digital library so that students can surfing & reads journals,papers etc. Now if we talk about the games and sports, there have no such big playground for outdoor games but there have some annual cricket and football league and have indoor games like carrom,table tennis etc.

I have not opted any hostel but I have a brief idea about the hostel. There is basically two hostel in front of our college. One is Sahara Hostel. In which the fees is Rs.5500-6000 for boys and Rs.6500-7000 for girls. They will provide 3times food and in a room there will be 2 students. And the other hostel is BAPI Da boys hostel. In which the fees is like Rs.5800 for 3people shared room, Rs.6300 for 1 people shared room and Rs. 6800 for single room. They will also provide 3 times food. But the quality is quite better than Sahara Hostel.

There is a active alumni group in our faculty. Every year an Alumni meeting has been held. They help us a lot for getting the job and they gives us a lot of information. Very old Alumnis are connected with us like Alumnis of 2005,2008,2009 etc.

I was appeared for WBJEE-2016 and got a rank 9664. I was applied for the counseling process of wbjee. In 1st counseling I got this college which was 72 number choice of my counseling process. I got the admission in TFW quota. In this quota the tuition fees is fully off and you just have to pay the college fees. Except this process there is a management process for admission. And this process is applicable when there is some vacant seats.

We are happy to say that we make our B.TECH course under the teachers of MSIT. They are all well qualified and knowledgeable. The great things is that when we face some problem regarding our study or our personal life they gave their best to help us. There have so many teachers like Shankar sir,Sanjoy Das Neogi sir,B.G sir,Tufan sir,Biswajit Thakur sir,Soumya sir and others who are directly connected to some big project of kolkata like metro construction, municipality work etc. So they have a brief knowledge about industrial work. With B.TECH course there have also M.TECH course in Geology. There have a lots of students who was make a great rank in GATE exam and study in abroad for our respective teacher's teaching.
